I would definitely wear it in autumn and spring. But not in the coldest part of winter.

I guess there isn't anything wrong with it if you are comfortable, but linen is firmly a summer fabric for me. It feels seasonally confused to wear it past September (then again, I live in the cold and snowy Midwest).

Well, I just wore my linen culottes this week, and I will wear my linen jackets as indoor jackets in cooler seasons as well, so I think it's fine as long as you're warm enough.

I've had wide leg linen pants for years that I want to wear other seasons but alas I never do as its so firmly a warm season fabrication in my mind.

I live where winters get snowy and cold, and wear some of my linen knit tees through the entire year. They hang in my main closet year round, ready to go. Two shirts are long-sleeved, so are good for casual work days indoors. I work from home. Two linen short-sleeved tees--one gray, one striped--work with a couple of my jackets on middling autumn days where the weather is not yet freezing. I just like the fabric, which has become wonderfully soft and supple over the years.

Deep cold winter means cashmere to me, not linen, so I simply don't reach for linen then.

Linen does, for the most part, have a hot weather vibe for me, so I hang my white jeans, linen pants, and most other linen away until the weather gets warm again.

I agree linen is fine year-round. As a fiber, it regulates temperature better than cotton -- it can keep you warmer as well as cooler. There are some great linen knits around that work great for transitional ot cross-seasonal use.

Plus, linen is more sustainable to produce than cotton. Uses less water and requires little to no pesticides.

Linen is just a fabric. In the olden days, it is what people had, before they had cotton. If the item is not summery looking I don't see why you couldn't wear it any time.

Only if you live in HOT weather year round (like in Singapore). I do think that wearing linen in Seattle is seasonally confused in the Fall & Winter.

While I have a couple of linen blend pencil skirts in dark colors that would work for cold weather, linen just never seems right to me in cold weather. I do use it for warm fall days in darker colors but have put away my white linen pants until next summer.

I believe climate should dictate your clothing choices (not some antiquated thinking from people that don't live your life).

However, having just said that, I have to admit I don't wear white jeans in the winter months or linen. They don't "feel" right. My weather is certainly appropriate to wear white jeans and linen deep into winter, but they have a certain summery feel to them that doesn't quite feel appropriate to me.

I live in a very moderate climate, so I wear it all year. It's such a comfortable fiber. It might not work so well in a very cold climate, especially in a summery color.

Does wearing linen in fall/winter feel seasonally confused? I have this linen shirt (in a robin's egg blue) and would wear it year-round. I also have a soft gold metallic tunic-length linen blouse with a dramatic front tie I wear in late spring and summer. Do you wear linens all year?
