Brrr ... 5 degrees Celsius is definitely cold for me (I live in Israel)! It is definitely a down-duvet-and-warm-pajamas weather!

Hannah it is about 5 degrees (41 degrees) in the night time in these days I have been talking about. Perhaps not that cold by many of your standards. Our bedrooom is unheated. (I try not to use heating much, but we have had it on for some of the colder late evenings in the family room, and sometimes a fan heater while the girls get dressed. Sometimes I wear hats (like beanies) around the house in the morning.
Temps rise quite a bit and the middles of our days are a lot warmer.

Dawn - I can relate to the study thing too. When I was a student, I would hole up for a weekend, wearing tracksuits etc, hardly sleeping, to get essays done

Unfortunately I have done that during exams and before project deadlines. I also had to do it out of necessity last Christmas when the heating in my house broke in one of the coldest Irish winters in recent years. I was wearing knee high socks, fleece lounge pants, long sleeve tshirt and a very thick aran knit jumper. The bed comprises of a thick duvet and two think blackets. That certainly was a cold few days waiting for my landlord to get the heating fixed!

I've done it when I was in the army - left my uniform on for the night, INCLUDING BOOTS! That was when I was in a boot camp, and we had very little time to sleep during the night.

Later, I was feeling as if I am in the boot camp again when the kids were really tiny and my husband was abroad (he has very frequent business trips). But obviously, I didn't sleep in my boots anymore Just left the "lounging" clothes on ("lounging" is in quotes because what you do at home with little kids is very very far from lounging), and I was ready in the morning, not to mention frequent night waking. On the bright side, my youngest one is almost 3 years old now (he will be 3 at the end of August), and my husband was abroad again this week, but I don't feel like in a boot camp anymore

I've never done it just because it was cold, though - when it is very cold, I prefer to take a warm shower before bed, it helps me keep warm much better than keeping the clothes on. It must be really freezing in your neck of woods!

After all my years (and still going) with breastfeeding, I am very used to wearing a bra to bed. I don't wear underwire ones though.

Sounds practical. I use sweats for jammies, I just don't use them as clothes. I can't get comfortable sleeping with a bra on, so that wouldn't work for me.

When you are super busy with kids, school, work, life, and have to get up before dawn, sometimes it is good to snuggle up in bed with some nice warm sweats on. It makes bouncing out of bed in the cold a little easier.

I've done it a few times already this winter too Anne! If I'm wearing yoga/track pants that I haven't exercised in, that night I'll just sleep in them. Still nice and comfy!!!

I've certainly done the camping part - just take off jeans and outer coat and you are set. I like extra blankets though and can't stand things on my legs when I sleep.
Very practical approach!

You know what Anne, after I thought about this for a few...I have worn *sweats* to bed when my children were both babies, and I was up and down all night with them both...and it was winter...but I never wore sweats outside the house anyway no matter how cute they were,.... so yes I have done that too:)

Well this isn't fashion related, just clothing related. Our nights are getting so cold (by Australian standards) I can't bear to take my clothes off to go to bed! So I wear them to bed (just "lounging" clothes), sometimes shedding the warm heavy jumper after I warm up a bit. Also means I am ready to go in the morning to get breakfasts etc. I have a shower and get changed a bit later when it warms up!
I used to do this when I went on camps in the winter with freezing wooden dormitories. I would wear tights and a top, and just take off my outer layer of jeans etc, for bed time and then shower after lunch!
Anyone else ever done this!
