It’s a cool shade, but unlike Angie, I can’t wear sour brights well. They make me look sallow. </p> <p>Instead, I like to include these colors as accents with colors I do like. Namely, a Vince Camuto blouse that I’ve had for years (since 2012! - see photo #6) that is banded and uses the citron as an accent with black and emerald. This blouse has been awesome, and it made me happy when I found out a former colleague had the same one still going strong. It is an ideal length for pencil skirts. </p> <p>Unfortunately that blouse, while still looking good, is aging. I also have been wearing skinny jeans and pants far more than pencil skirts, and the blouse is too short to be fuss-free with pants. I’m not ready to fully retire it yet as it still brings me joy with the right outfit, but I’ve been on the hunt for a substitute. </p> <p>Enter this black, sheer high-low blouse with a watercolor citron flower. It has a similar floaty texture but it’s a far better length with pants. The longer length at the back actually looks pretty cool with my satin slit-side high-low bomber as a top layer, so it won’t need to be a summer-only piece. The back side of the fabric is gray-blue, which shows due to the hemline and volume of the top, and that makes it softer than a matte black. </p> <p>I must apologize for the quality of the photos of this blouse, taken in a hurry and in very low morning light, but hopefully it gives you some idea. I also echoed the citron with my bronze and chartreuse specs (even older than the blouse!) and gray and mossy green pumps. </p> <p>Bonus: photos taken on walks this week in the gorgeous fall evenings. I love this time of year. </p>
