I ended up trying them in store and bought them. They're much more distressed and inconsistent in terms of color; like darker purple and then lighter purple, so it's definitely casual.

I'll be putting all those tips for use, thanks for all of the input guys! You never fail :)

For those interested in purchasing, they are also smaller than the other Lunas so suggest you size up! I had to get my boots stretched instore so I won't be able to showcase them in anyway (but hey, to fit my 15-16" calves, I'm good with that.).

Gorgeous boots!

I think if you are someone who wears muted colours... greys, dusty blues, etc, they will go with anything. Esp if you can find a scarf to pick up this specific colour. But if muted isn't your thing... I'd leave them.

Those are beautiful boots. I'll add in all shades of denim.

Do you have dark hair? You could add some purple highlights, and then the boots will bookend your hair beautifully. Even if unconventional hair color isn't up your alley, I still think the boots could work with your wardrobe, if you wear colors that they will coordinate with, as SarahtheWhite suggests. I have olive boots, and they go with a lot of things, regardless of whether I'm wearing olive.

I agree that wearing them with either neutrals or a scarf to pull in some purple are great options. It's probably easier at this time of year to find a scarf rather than a purple top.

I think that they are beautiful!! The color is beautiful and muted (or at least looks like it on my iPad). I would wear it with black, grey, navy, brown, white, tan - any neutral, really. I could also see it with accent colors of teal or gold (i.e. Angie's post today). I probably wouldn't even bother trying to match the color or tie it in with other purples...

Carol, I have loved those specific boots from afar, but cannot justify (for me) another pair of casual boots. That said, a simple way to tie them into an outfit would be with a scarf that picks up the same tone but in a pattern. I can see them working with black skinnies (or a fun plaid), greys, skirts and dresses. I say go for it if you can find enough ways to rock them!

I have these purple rain boots that I wear with all kinds of outfits, when needed.

Would love some help deciding--whether or not I get enough combinations I'd totally would make a purchase!

I bought the Reformer on sale from Fluevog, and while I love it, it's too wide at the ankles and I hate the extra leather there. (I'm super sad about it though, the boots look so well made but if it doesn't fit..well it doesn't fit).

So since I can't return them per se, I have to get store credit, I've been looking around their site now for something else that catches my eye. Most of the Fluevogs are a little too wild for me, but these Luna boots in purple look just normal with a twist enough for me to pick them up. And it looks like they'll have a tighter fit around the ankle than the Reformer too, so yay!

And here they are in all their glory:
https://www.fluevog.com/shop/3.....nchor=true

I'd love to excuse myself to buy a pair of purple tall boots (since it's my favorite color after all), but I'm a small asian girl--at 5' and 120, I'm afraid it'll just make me look stumpy and a bit too casual. The height is good and so long as it hugs my calves (well, they're 15" so they're probably going to have to be stretched instore should I buy them) in the right places I think I'd buy them.

Still though the color is a little offputting since it's not as versatile as black or brown. The only ideas I can think of to bind it all is to get something like a lavender topper to wear inside, but finding one I like in that color now is a bit difficult seeing as it's usually a Spring associated color...

Would love some pointers on how I can make this a viable buy--I have a small budget but I plan to spend big on a small set of items versus buying as much as I possibly can.. And thanks in advance!
