JAileen and Angie, great iseas. I think I have components - insulated 3-in-1 jacket, a puffer w/o hood, and a hooded rainjacket. Let me see what I can rustle up with these items. These haven’t been worn in multiple years, so I may have to replace some items. Thank you for the links.

Angie, don’t know how this ended up in off-topic.

Do you have a lighterweight puffer with a hood? That's good in rain. Or a cute rain coat. I live in Seattle and contend with the rain a LOT! This is what I wear depending on the type of rain, and how cold it is. Hoods are VERY important!

I would layer. You have more flexibility WRT temperatures and precipitation. What you need at 40F is different than at 60F. Are you planning to buy something new? North Face and Patagonia (and probably others) have 3-in-1 coats, with a waterproof outer coat, and a zip out insulated layer. I have a kind of lightweight one that I got years ago. It rarely rains here, but I have taken it on trips.

I am heading to Switzerland next month and was warned to prepare for rain and 40-60 degree days. This is not weather I encounter where I live. What do you recommend for outerwear? Two separate layers? I have a Marmot rain jacket but it is slim fitting.
