Aquatalia are too narrow for me in the toe area. I think Italian made shoes tend to run narrow. I have had good luck with Pedro Garcia shoes made in Spain but they are very spendy for a brand that does not hold up well. Nevertheless, they do make a water resistant boot that is very cute. I am looking for something like an Aquatalia that fits a wider toe box. I already have some waterproof Danner boots for very casual long outdoor dog walking.

I will spend some more time looking at La Canadienne. It seems like they have a lot of options and often have reviews that help me assess fit. I had never heard of them before starting this search.

Thanks all

My experience with waterproof boots:

Blondo - economical boot, less comfy for my foot, but not bad. They also make slip on sneakers that are waterproof.
Born - very comfy and well made.
Timberland - workman style, but durable and comfy.

The waterproof boots I own are La Canadienne (and my foot is not narrow and I take the *smaller* of my two sizes in their boots -- go figure!); Aquatalia (typically quite narrow, I always take the larger of my two sizes); and Blondo -- which are generally medium width but can run on the short side so sometimes don't work for those with longer toes. (In a round toed style I kept bumping my very short toes.)

Having said that, as Sharan says, Blondo is economical and can work very well when they work, so worth a try!

I think Naturalizer may make some wider width waterproof boots -- worth checking it out!

I also have Blundstones but their fit is very different and I, too, have trouble getting them to work for me, though I continue to try and buy because they are great for garden, light hiking trails, mucking about. My current Blundstones are lined with two insoles for a better fit. I only wear them very casually.

I wore my LaCanadienne boots into the ground and bought a second pair now being broken in. I travelled with mine as a backup and wore only them for a lot of walking on wet pavement. They were so comfortable and warm. My foot is a bit narrow but I mostly wear regular sizes.

I have some by LaCanadienne, and my foot is not narrow. However, I did take the larger of my two sizes.

I also have a couple of pairs of Blondo, and I think they run more average in width. They are a lot more economical than LaCanadienne. I have found sizing to be inconsistent with Blondo, but I've had good luck with them overall, and actually wore out one pair.

I have the same issue with La Canadienne's (they are too narrow for my feet.) I've had great success with Rockport for waterproof boots.

I am thinking of buying some Freda Salvador boots that are waterproof (probably really just water resistant). The boot I am looking at is a Chelsea boot. Does anyone have experience with this brand? I heard La Canadienne has nice waterproof boots but that they fit on the narrow side so maybe not for me. Does anyone have recommendations? I tried on Blundstone's once but found them horribly uncomfortable. The break-in period is just too long for me I guess.
