Brown and orange are often hard to find Joy! I have a (too small now) rust bikini from Target, from a couple years ago. Maybe they have that color again?

The idea with my elemental capsules was that they're a template. The components should be fairly easy to replace as needed- instead of starting over if I have some whim of something different.

The rip skirt has been good for wfh too, so not just intended for the pool/beach. You could just designate it as daily wear!

My rip skirt came today, a tropical print. Now to pick out a rash guard to wear with it and maybe a swim suit. The one I have has chocolate brown in the pattern of the tankini top and is the color of the bottom. Even Lands End’s selection does not include brown. Maybe I should start over with a black based capsule but it seems so old lady to me. ( thinking of family matriarchs). The rip skirt also has orange in it, another hard color to find.

Everything is in my 2 gear drawers Jessikams! Sleeveless tops, sports bras, socks, swimwear in one and bottoms and long sleeve tops in the other.
"Capsule" is by color/function- though the black pieces I wear anytime.

When I'm working outside the home though, I have a gym bag and a swim bag in my car at all times. When I get home I just replace the things and put the bags back in the car. It's a PITA. I do not miss carrying All That Stuff!

This is how I organize my fitness stuff too. One capsule for yoga; one for hiking/camping/fishing; one for pool/beach. There is some crossover but I know exactly what you mean about preferring “unmistakable” items— so it’s easy to put things in their correct home after laundry.

Where do you keep your capsules? For me it’s separate duffel bags. Not ideal.

I'm not feeling brights at all this year Angie, will leave them to you! Plus the Ripskirts don't have pockets, so one and done (probably) for me.

I haven't tried it yet with a wet bum, since the pools aren't open yet, but did buy it for post pool "throw on and go." Meaning: it's 90 degrees and I don't want to be bothered with changing til I get home.

"Post swim cozy" means: it's cold out, and too much bother to put my work clothes (often skirts/tights/or fitted ponte pants) back on!

What a great capsule, ST! Perfect for spending summer days on the water. I considered a ripskirt for commuting to/from the beach and pool. I remember driving after swimming and sometimes taking a detour to grab a bite to eat before going home. Too many times I showed up at a restaurant with a wet bum.... Of course, that was back when we actually could stop somewhere to eat...

Such a great water capsule. I like to have both a one piece and bikini swim suit to wear and getting matching sarong or cover up is such a great idea. I like how your pieces look stylish but also very functional.

I'd happily give you the swim cap, Brooklyn! It's silicone, so very tight and uncomfortable. The black is latex so not as bad. Hopefully the new pool they're building will have salt water so I can do without!
Athleta and Lands End have a lot of mix and match unfrumped. Swim outlet may be a place to check too. I like having black personally cause more options!
Thanks Sal and Shevia!
I thought of Lands End first, Mainelady. There are definitely some things I like. A sleeveless rash guard is a thought, though will definitely want a long sleeved one for cold swimming pools. Zip would be very practical!

Great planning!
I have been trying to put together a pool capsule update. Mostly tankini-swimshorts as I can never get fit in a one piece— brought home yet again after I ordered some Miracle suits. . But continue to have trouble matching things up as a top I like may be sold out or not have coordinating bottoms or vice versa. Plus a swim short brand changed styling so harder to adjust the waist. But still working on it.

You have a great capsule going! I like the colors you have chosen and the functionality of each item. If it helps, Lands End has several different tankini tops available. One item I have found really helpful is a sleeveless zip front rash guard. It functions like a tankini top, but looks more like a vest.

Glad to be of help! Basically my goal is to have sort of a template for my gear capsules. Color scheme + needed pieces for any seasons I use them for. Then as pieces wear out I'm not starting over from scratch.
My biking and hiking capsules are in my finds too- will post about them this week so I'm not a forum hog

Thanks nuancedream! A dress like the Sweaty Betty could be good as a coverup and maybe even for kayaking too.
I like using the teal skort/top for SUP cause they look like a dress together, so are ok if I do other errands while out. Plus they are bright- so I'm not run over by jet skis!

I am a kayaker too and DH and I have a trip to Lopez Island, WA coming up in a couple of weeks. I am good for swimsuits and water shoes but I have been unable to find the very popular Ripskirt in my size and in the pattern I most like. I do have a wrinkle resistant skirt that I can pop on over my swimsuit but I think it is a bit dressy for the island.

One of my goals this year was to create little elemental capsules for my fitness activities. The first is Water- for swim, water aerobics, SUP, and other boating.
This is what I'm using now- and yes the Rip Skirt arrived, wearing today! Length on me about same as model.

Planned additions and changes are:
Better boat shoes- these slip :(
A tankini top- black or black with teal print
A rashguard- same as above, for cooler days on water and cold swimming pools- so must be chlorine resistant
Post swim cozy outfit- full length (30 in) joggers or other loose pants and a top or 2 to go. Teal/navy color scheme- or black if unmistakable from usual sleep/lounge wear (for quick sorting). Not a priority till cold weather, if swimming at a gym is even a thing again this year :/
#dreamsofolympicsizebackyardpool

Eta- bottle, towels, swim caps (blue/green one very uncomfortable), and bag!
Eta again- more tiger habitat, paddling "above the clouds", and a little friend that was swimming in a puddle in our driveway
