<p><b>Update</b>: &nbsp;I took the Pulsar watch to a jeweler to see if it could be adjusted to fit DD, and to see if it still works. &nbsp;Sadly, the battery had corroded inside the watch and it was going to cost more to fix the watch than was worth the effort because it is not going to fit DD’s wrist. &nbsp; Therefore, it is now a sentimental item. &nbsp;I had to leave the RW watch with the jeweler to get the battery changed and I am praying its battery didn’t corrode also. &nbsp;<b>Lesson learned, do not store quartz watches that are not being used with their batteries! &nbsp;</b><div><br /></div><div><b>Angie</b>, your idea of how to wear a watch is excellent. Thanks! &nbsp;I have previously positioned my watches in front of that bone, closer to my hand, but putting it further back allows for a slightly larger size and makes room for my bangles, it also helps because sleeves are often too short for me so taking up space on my wrist this way is useful.</p>
<p>I went to local jewelry shops to try on watches and found some I like, but they were at a price point beyond what I wanted to pay. &nbsp; My two favorites were a longines dolce vita mini tank style and a Breitling &nbsp;Navatimer 32mm, which looks very pretty in person, less so in photos. &nbsp;I also liked the size and look of Breitling Chronomat 34 mm despite it being a bit sporty. &nbsp;Trying them on made me realize how much I miss switching up my watches and bangles as part of my daily style. &nbsp;I used to switch between 4-5 watches…the Pulsar, a Bulova (long gone), the Citizen, the Skagen the Raymond Weil, and I had a DKNY watch which I passed to DD already. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I am guessing I will end up with a couple watches and rotate them. &nbsp;I like the replacement that I ordered. It’s a Tissot, Chemin de Tournelles 32mm watch with a mother of pearl face. &nbsp;I also ordered a Citizen XC titanium Eco-Drive watch that works as a fun statement, with a blue face. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I am not sure a fitness ring will work. &nbsp;I have tried the sizing kit and my fingers seem to be in between the sizes offered. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div>

<p>I'm very old school and still wear a wristwatch. My current watch is a Skagen rose gold mesh band watch. It is a replacement for a much loved white ceramic Skagen watch, which was a Christmas gift from Mr. ND.

<p><b>Staysfit</b>! FWIW: </p>
<p>I have a very narrow wrist and protruding wrist bone too. I have the smaller Apple Watch and find it very comfortable. I make sure the watch is on the far side of the bone - away from my hand - and secured tightly so that it does not shift. My bracelets dangle on the other side of the bone - closest to my hand. </p>
<p>This might work for you too. Just putting it out there

<p>I’m sorry the first watch you tried didn’t work out Staysfit! Your original high school Pulsar is so similar to my original Pulsar, which was I think a first anniversary present from my DH in 1987. I loved it, but ruined it at work in 1995 when I was shaking down a mercury thermometer (before the days of aural thermometers) and it broke when it hit my watch. All the mercury leaked out and merged with the metal of the watch, which wrecked it and was probably unsafe as well. So I bought the new Pulsar on insurance, but you couldn’t get the same sort of band.<br />
I remembered after you posted that I had been enamoured of a Guess watch I saw online, in recent months. It feels really Art Deco to me. It’s called the Audrey. I’m not sure of the quality and since I have 10 watches already no rush to purchase, if at all!

<div>I am a longtime, dyed-in-the-wool watch-wearer. I love watches.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I also wear a Whoop fitness tracker on my other wrist.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>Echo, I adore that Gucci watch, with the bee. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>My two most current are below in Finds. I wear the white Tissot daily. The black one I wear less often but like it when I'm wearing a lot of black in an outfit, and shiny silver jewelry.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I also have two of my father's, which I treasure, but I guess I didn't create Finds for them.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div></p>

<p>I have TSA pre-check and I believe I have been asked to put my watch into a small dish once or twice when walking through. &nbsp; They held it and then handed it right to me. &nbsp; It did not go through with everything else. &nbsp; However, if I had a truly expensive watch, I doubt I would bring it with me when traveling. &nbsp;I switch to costume jewelry when I travel.<div><br /></div><div>The first watch I ordered did not work out. &nbsp;I am looking at alternate options. My top contenders are the Tudor Clair de Rose with a silver opaline dial and Roman numerals all around (no diamonds), the other is a Longines PrimaLuna, with mop dial and Roman numerals all around. &nbsp;I have a slight preference for the Tudor, because I like the clock face better, but it is a difficult watch to find to try on. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>I have been looking at the Oura ring as a Fitbit replacement. &nbsp; As a fitness tracker it looks like it will offer me most of what I already use in my Fitbit except realtime access to a timer, distance and HR. I can always switch to a fitness watch for specific workouts when needed. &nbsp; The first step for the oura ring is sizing. &nbsp;I have ordered a sizing kit.</div>

<p><div>I have been wearing a watch for ages - I needed it on the job.&nbsp; But I tend to get relatively cheap watches that I hope will hold up well because I know that eventually they will get wet or something will happen.&nbsp; The exception was when I was visiting my mom and she asked me about my watch and I told her my watch was broken.&nbsp; She gave me a nice one she had that was so small she could no longer read it.&nbsp; (It got lost a few years later on a trip.)&nbsp; Now I'm wearing a Timex Easy Reader.</div><div>I've never had a problem with my watch when flying.</div><div><br /></div>

<p>I like my Apple Watch but I seem to have the worst luck with it when I travel. Either the charger stops working or I forget the cord or I can’t figure out how to change the time zone or some other catastrophe happens and I can’t use it. So I’ve gone back to a good old fashioned wrist watch when I travel!

<p>I have a couple of very nice watches (gifts from my husband - a Hermes and a Breitling) and some that are not so fancy (Philip Stein) from about 10-15 years ago ago, before the advent of smartwatches and fitness trackers. When I first got a Fitbit, I wore it clipped to my waistband but I’ve gotten away from that habit. My oldest watch is from a trip I took to Switzerland over 30 years ago — the maker is Davis and at the time it was an expensive purchase for me. I have a couple of pretty rose gold watches (Skagen and Olivia Burton) from when they trended a decade or so ago, but I haven’t worn them in ages. A dressy mixed metal Skagen is good for dressy occasions. </p>
<p>The problem these days is that I use my Fitbit Inspire on my watch arm. I’ve wondered if I could get used to wearing that on my dominant side (the right) so I can get more use from my watches. My Hermes has a lovely double-wrap blue leather strap and is very wearable for everyday, and I’d like to wear it more often.

<p>Thanks Staysfit for liking my collection! I’m not sure where some of them came from which is strange-mostly my Mum I suppose. I looked up some of the brands like Roamer and Buren Rival, reasonable brands. I think I might try to wear some of them more often seeing they all seem to work.<br />
I was thrilled to find the Pierre Cardin as I do wear that for some special occasions.

<p>I used to love watches in my early days. Had old ones from my grandparents and liked the bigness of the mens ones. Haven’t worn one for a long time, even before phones, though might have another go if the right one comes along, just so I’m not checking my phone as often for the time. </p>
<p>Serious question about those precious watches with big price tags: they are so gorgeous, but how does it work going through airport security? Often our binned items arrive on the other side of the human X-ray machine before we do, I think it might cause me even more anxiety than I already have. Or maybe they let you leave your watch on your wrist?

<p>I'm a watch person and always wear it. I have a small omega constellation as a present for my 30th and was considering replacing it with a new one for my 50th ( next year) but then decided not to as I still like it and couldn't see anything that I like. The second watch is a zenith in yellow gold, inherited from my dad and kept more in his memory than daily wear.&nbsp;

<p><div>Ms Mary, your Omega watch is beautiful. &nbsp; What a wonderful gift from DH. &nbsp; My Raymond Weil Tango seemed expensive at the time I bought it, but I’m certain I paid less than four figures. &nbsp; It has held up well. &nbsp;I can see lots of wear on my Citizen watch, which cost much less, and has seen much less wear. &nbsp;Maybe there is some correlation between durability and cost. DH has an Omega watch from his MGF. &nbsp; It’s in pristine condition, and we know his GF wore it, and so does DH. &nbsp;Amazing quality.&nbsp;</p>
<p></div><div>Current and prospective Apple IWatch wearers, LJP, JAileen, Angie, Bijou, Suz, Roberta, Runcarla, Susie. &nbsp;I can see the advantages and appeal of an Apple Watch. &nbsp; It’s nice that it can be individually customized with different watch bands to suit personal style, and it’s very functional. &nbsp; My problem is its size. &nbsp;Apple Watches are 40-45 mm. &nbsp; My wrists are small and I have a protruding wrist bone that makes many larger sized watches very uncomfortable. &nbsp;Based on my wrist size and personal experience my comfort zone for a watch, lug to lug is anything smaller than 36 mm. &nbsp; That rules out most of the current automatic watches, sports watches and fashion watches. &nbsp; They are just too big. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>DonnaF, see above. &nbsp; My wrists measure under 6 inches. &nbsp; They are small for my height, and current watch trends have been for larger watches. &nbsp; The largest clock face I can manage, depending on how the lugs are configured is 29-30mm. &nbsp;I understand your difficulty. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Jenni NZ, your vintage watch collection is amazing! &nbsp; My paternal gm had a beautiful diamond cocktail watch which was supposed to go to me but once my gf died my dad couldn’t find it. &nbsp; He thinks my gf gave it to his second wife and perhaps her children took it. &nbsp; My dad’s Rolex went to my brother. I’m glad you found the hidden Pierre Cardin watch! &nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>Suz, Dee, Jaime, fitness trackers are nice. &nbsp;I definitely enjoy the data from my Fitbit Charge and am also considering different options. &nbsp; The Charge is too large, hurts my wrist, and it irritates my skin. &nbsp;I tried wearing both the fitness tracker and a watch for a while but it was too hard. &nbsp;A fitness ring sounds good. &nbsp;Wearing the fitness tracker only when I exercise is another option. &nbsp;I need to think about this, &nbsp;it seems like most people who use a tracker have another option they can switch to when/if they want.</p>
<p>Style Fan, I hope you can figure out what’s wrong with your watches. &nbsp;I know they need servicing periodically. &nbsp; Not only for battery issues. &nbsp;Other parts can wear out, they may need some lubrication, etc. &nbsp;I didn’t mention it before but when the Raymond Weil Watch was in need of service, some moisture had also caused some damage because the back was not replaced properly during a battery change. &nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>Indigoprint, DD says she is going to use an extender so she can wear my Pulsar. &nbsp; Her wrist is larger than mine and I am not able to locate the links that were removed when it was sized. &nbsp;I have the links for all the other watches. &nbsp;I keep them in labeled envelopes in my jewelry box.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>

<p>I bought an iWatch and now wear that every day replacing my traditional watches - which I still have but only wear when wearing formal clothing. The iWatch is so convenient.

<p>I am on team watch. Like others I've worn watches since I was a child. I've never worn a smartwatch, it's just not my thing, I prefer a traditional watch face instead. I also have a very small wrist and most of today's watches are too large for my wrist and that includes smartwatches.</p>
<p>My preference for watches is a stainless steel band. All of my watches are sentimental. The Pulsar was my first "fancy" watch. My father purchased it for me from Fortunoff when I was a teen.</p>
<p>The Rolex watch is vintage and was a wedding gift from DH. It's my most worn watch and also my most comfortable watch. It's self winding so no need to worry about batteries. I get it serviced every 10 years.</p>
<p>The two Invicta watches I've purchased on cruises with my sister. She adores Invicta watches and it's fun to shop for watches together. The styles remind me of designer brands, but they are a more wallet friendly price point.

<p>I love watches.&nbsp; I haven't been wearing one lately because all of mine seem to need repairs.&nbsp; I plan to take them to someone when I go to Montreal next winter to see what the problem is.&nbsp; I find it strange that they have all stopped working at the same time.&nbsp; All of mine require batteries.&nbsp; I took them to the jeweller to get the batteries replaced.<br />I inherited a mechanical watch from my mother.&nbsp; It is a gold bracelet style.&nbsp; I have never worn it.<br />My favourite style is the Bulova.&nbsp; I have a couple like that.

<p>Yes, I still wear watches, my wrist would feel naked without one. 90% of the time I'm wearing my fitbit Inspire 3 tracker. I like that it tracks things, and I can get notifications from my cellphone too. It has a slim black profile, so it isn't too obtrusive. However, I also have a lovely tortoise band Fossil watch that was a gift from my boys. I enjoy wearing it for dressier occasions.

<p>so fun seeing these vintage watches! I have a few dainty ones of my grandmothers, but they are so tiny, they would never fit my wrist. I have them in a glass jar sitting on a book shelf.

<p>I added pictures of the Pulsar watch my mom gave me for HS graduation. &nbsp; It’s very dainty and small. &nbsp;I love it except it’s a very warm gold and not my best metal. &nbsp;DD1 suits gold and warm tones so I am thinking of giving it to her. &nbsp; The brown Skagen watch is probably very much in style now with all the browns that are being shown in stores. &nbsp;I think I may be able to pull it off as an accessory paired with a brown belt and shoes plus my brown and blue glasses frames. &nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>Back later to comment….I have to head to work!</div>

<p>I wear a watch all the time every day. No Fit Bit or Apple watch. We do have the little kit off Amazon since my husband needs to replace my batteries (also off Amazon) fairly frequently since I have eight or so watches in regular rotation. I will say he wrecked a watch or two changing the battery. </p>
<p>The first watch (Seiko) I inherited from my mom. My biggest issue is finding watches proportional to my sub-size wrists and having sufficient removeable links.</p>

<p>Staysfit, so strange this should crop up now! I had been planning for a week or more to sort out my watch collection- or the women’s ones anyway, there are inherited men’s ones that are another story. Today was a day off for me but not for my husband who asked what I would do today and I said, I might finally take all those watches to the watchmaker. They have been in a bag waiting. I had been sad because I thought my wee granddaughter had somehow lost my 2007 Pierre Cardin watch when playing, but after getting home today after the shop visit and tidying the jewellery drawer more I found it, yay! I read your post after I had said that to him!<br />
So I took them in and asked the lovely watchmaker woman about them all, what eras some might be from etc, and if she could make two that are too big for me smaller. She could for one of them but not the other, and all of them work. I will keep the too-big one in case DD2 wants it for dress-ups she attends as I think her wrist is bigger. The watchmaker replaced the battery on the newest one (2017, I showed it to the forum back then, mixed metal). I still wear the 1995 Pulsar on work days to check pulses manually which I like to do. The oldest one was Neil’s grandmother’s and she died decades ago. I am going to store each in a tiny plastic bag with its info.<br />
So yes, I wear a watch every day and feel lost without one.

<p>I’ve always liked watches and had several over the years. Now I have just one, a Fendi that I rarely wear because I wear my Apple Watch everyday. I started with a stainless mesh band and now have one from Lagos in sterling. I wear one of their bracelets with it and now it feels pretty enough :)</p>
