Oh, you are all so resourceful and smart THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! (sorry, I'm just excited with all the solutions)

Gigi, that's a wonderful idea, it hadn't occurred to me.

Joy, I didn't know about either of these options to do at home. Will take note for other items as well.

JuniperGreen, that's so helpful and such a relief!!! I usually read reviews but didn't think of sifting through them for this question. (And these pants are as delicious to wear as the reviewer suggests)

DonnaF, that's all good to know. I would be sad if they shrunk or faded... they have a deep dark navy color that looks so dressy.

thanks everyone again!

Due to rayon, your biggest risks are probably shrinking and then fading. If they shrink they may also stretch back out with wear.

A quick look in the product reviews on the site shows at least one shopper has successfully laundered them!

From the site: "I bought these along with the Gigi pant, and ended up LOVING these with pockets! I was looking for a jegging or black pair of jeans, and couldn't stop wearing these! Very stretchy, comfortable, and can be worn as pants with flats or in place of leggings with boots! I ordered a size 4, usually wear a 4-6 in pants. They fit perfectly. They say dry clean only, but I find that washing on cold in a gentle cycle and hanging to dry works just fine."

You might try Dryell in-the-dryer dry cleaning or putting them in the freezer to get rid of odors.

I don't have the pants, but you might want to consider calling the Factory store and asking the sales associates whether they have experience with washing the pants. I have done that with the regular J. Crew store when I am considering buying a dry-clean-only item.

This might be a long shot, but...

Does anyone here own the Gigi pants from J.Crew Factory, and, if so, have you ever washed it at home?

I only realized now that the tag says "Dry Clean Only." To be honest I might not have bought it if I had seen it earlier! But I love the pants. And if I can, I prefer to avoid dry cleaning. The clothes never feel as fresh as when they come out of the wash, plus I never know when I have time to stop by the cleaners'...

They describe the fabric as: "Our popular stretch ponte fabric (rayon/nylon/spandex)."

Sorry for the oddly specific question, but in the off chance someone has experience with this, it would help! Thanks!
