Yep, a fresh washcloth every day. I like to buy the thin, inexpensive ones that come in packs of 6 or 8 at CVS. They're just rough enough to provide gentle exfoliation and thin enough to dry quickly before I toss them in the laundry hamper.

I don't use a wash cloth on my face. I use my hands to apply facial cleanser and splash to rinse. I keep paper towels in my bathroom to dry my face because I don't like using a face towel more than once. Quirky? I do use my bath towel multiple times.

I use one per day - each morning I put the previous day's in the laundry pile. Muslin cloths are good for sensitive skin - my sister uses though. She buys a yard of muslin and makes her own although I don't have the details on how she does it.

I change wash cloths every morning when I wash my face. I usually wash my face in the shower in the evenings, so I just use my hands.

@Manidipa - I don't reuse my wash cloths because I've noticed my acne seemed to improve when I only used the it once. When you rinse of the cloth, you can't get all the bacteria and whatnot off.

I don't wash my face very often as a rule, but I don't change out cloths every time either (I do actually use a wash cloth in the shower more often, as my dry skin seems to get irritated by the plastic puffy loofahs or even the natural loofahs).

I figure I just need to use a little extra cleanser (face wash, shower gel, soap) to wash it up and then I hang it up to dry, and we're good. Surely what's good enough for cleaning my skin is good enough to clean the cloth? I keep two to hand to alternate in case it's slow air-drying weather. They go in the wash at the end of a week or so, with the other towels and such --- only because the build-up from hard water needs to be pounded out by hot water!

Yes definitely. Usually washers are in terry towelling. But I once used the Eve Lom skin care range which uses the wash cloth as an integral part of the program. They use MUSLIN clothes said to be better on your skin. They cost $30 each here for one cloth!!! I sometimes buy baby muslin wraps on sale for under $10, cut them into wash cloth size and hem them on my overlocker machine. I get at least a dozen so easy to have a clean one each time... I don't find them as rough as the terry toweling...

I don't use a washcloth on my face or body. I spash water and towel dry first thing, and in my shower I wash with whatever soap I have on hand. I don't usually take my make up off either, though I am trying to encourage myself to do it my putting remover and tissues on my bedside table so I can take it off in bed.

My house is awash with wash cloths though (or washers as we call them, or sometimes flannels). They are a very useful thing to have around the house with kids,

I don't use wash cloths any longer on my face, but when I did I had a fresh cloth for every wash. My skin is SO sensitive that I didn't want to expose it to bacteria/mildew from a damp, used cloth.

The caveat is that using a washcloth was WAY over-stressing my skin. I believe that's what initially caused the eczema to spread to my face; I suddenly had very dry patches, and then I'd have spots with acne too.

When I backed off to only wash my face with cleanser once a day (rubbing gently with my fingers only, and PATTING dry with a washcloth or towel) and then once a day cleansing with jojoba oil on a cotton ball and then spot-treating with diluted tea tree oil where needed, my skin didn't feel so dry, tight, and sore in the patches where I'd previously had eczema outbreaks.

Just wanted to throw that out there, for what it's worth to others who have sensitive skin.

I now have a Clarisonic that I use every 2 days. If I use a washcloth for face or body (more likely for body) I will use 2 days (if it totally dries between).

For years, I used to use baby terry wash cloths on my face. I found them to be gentler on my skin than regular terry cloths. Since my youngest is now 18 years old, they have all worn out and have been tossed, and I have fallen out of the habit of using them. This might be a good option for those of you with sensitive skin. I really should buy more and start using them again.

I don't use a washcloth to exfoliate. Abrasions irritate my skin more than chemicals like retinol (oddly). And a washcloth is oddly abrasive on me, unless I'm just using it for steam on my face. I am also careful about using a washcloth on my body as it is similarly abrasive. I don't even rub a towel on my skin except my hands. I blot just a bit and then put on an absorbent robe. My skin is so much happier this way, and the towel doesn't rub off the lavender body oil I put on in the shower.

I hope when I admitted to using one this morning I was thinking of the same thing. In the UK we would call the item a flannel and it is like a 6" square towel, same thing?

So many people use washcloths! I've always felt awkward using them, like somehow I'm not doing it right. And they flap all over the place on me. I just bought a little a face brush for the occasional at-home spa treatment. I've an electric one, but this plain brush was so cute.

p.s. I secretly use my washcloths to dry my dog off after a tromp through wet grass.

Yes! I have a bath each night, where I wash my face with mild soap, splash with water a bunch of times, then gently remove the last traces with a washcloth. Only after I've done my face, I use the washcloth for other body parts (feet last, if needed), and then after my bath the cloth goes in the wash.

I do exactly what Ceit does. I don't find changing it more is necessary, and with how long it takes the cloths to dry before putting them in the hamper, I'd have wash cloths strung up all over my bathroom if I changed them out daily. :T

Hi Angie! I use one side one night and the other side the next night. Then I switch to a fresh cloth.
