For me, the point of SYC is to help me appreciate the closet that I currently have (as opposed to the closet I aspire to) and to break the addiction to "ooh new! shiny!" From your description, it sounds like this was a legitimate "need" (for gear) that your current closet couldn't meet -- so it sounds kosher to me. They *are* somewhat gear-esque, so it would be a good option health-wise as you wouldn't want to get wet feet.<br /> and<br /> 4.
