Do you have Lane Bryant or Avenue up there? You would probably do well with their smallest sizes.

I also have found that doubling up on thinner stockings is doing a great job at keeping my legs warm in our Chicago weather, so if you can't find one thick pair, try two mediums!

The packaging on the Chadwick tights state that the size L/XL fits: 5'0 - 6'0" and 140 - 220 Lbs. They are 88% nylon and 12% spandex.

I was going to suggest leggings as well. I am super picky about the feeling of tights as I have large thigs and hate to feel constricted, so leggings are much more forgiving and comfy.

Though I understand there are certain applications leggings aren't good for, like if you want to wear skirt and heels. So I am no help there

I was going to suggest the Smartwool tights but see that they only go to a L. Would doubling up on regular tights help?

Mac, have you tried Chadwicks http://www.chadwicks.com/cloth.....38;pref=ps

I am 5'9" size 10 with long legs and their L/XL are very big on me; lots of extra material to spare in both the leg length and around the torso on me in this size. I have a feeling these would work out well for you. Maybe worth a try?

The quality is just average, but the price makes them a good value in my opinion. I wear these all the time. They are fairly warm.

Mak, I don't know about the online options, but I'm wondering if perhaps the Bay would stock them? Overall, I suspect leggings might be slightly easier to procure than the kind of tights you're describing. Would you be open to that idea?

How about the Uniqlo heat tech leggings? They're not full length tights, but they are warm. The XL fits up to a 35" waist and 43" hip according to their size charts, but they are stretchy.

They don't exist. Just kidding.

I hope I am wrong, but it seems that warm tights are reserved for smaller/shorter people. Please prove me wrong!

Well, at 5'11" and a size 16, I'm having a hard time finding attractive but warm tights (I'm thinking of the wool/nylon blends that I used to wear back when I was a size 8) that actually fit me. In the Toronto winters, I need something cozy to keep my legs from turning to icicles.

Can any of you please suggest somewhere that sells warm tights in my size (preferably with internet shopping option)?

Thanks : )
