rachylou, thanks! your comment definitely helps ease the pain of returning the Bos and Co boots. I do see a slight fit issue with them at the ankles, they sort of slouch a little bit. The Uggs look structured. It's funny, looking at them, the Uggs look so much bulkier. But once on, and especially looking at the pic, the difference is not that big.

Chris987, yes, this forum is a life-saver! I've recently sorted out curly hair woes, a velvet dress conundrum, and now my cold toes winter needs!

Zibbets, I will check out the Sorel liners. They might help with my old boots (which are not very warm, and I think there would be room for them).

Style Fan, I will be dreaming of Bos and Co for a long time... I never had to send back a shoe I loved so much before! (It's usually because of fit.) I will keep this brand in mind next time I need winter boots that don't have to be as warm. (Chances are this model will be gone, but I did like all of their styles.)

gryffin, thank you again for suggesting the Adirondacks, and super thanks for the heads up on the arch support. I didn't know about neuromas before--just read up and they sound so painful. And it's sad that footwear can cause it. I hope your neuroma is better now!

FashIntern, thanks for the positive reinforcement! They really are very cute, very warm, and very well made.

Barbara Diane, thanks--it took a loooot of time reading reviews, following up all the leads in this forum, etc...

Suz, you gave me truly wonderful advice. You have gone through way more boots than I have, and your advice saved me from trying many more till I could find the right one. Did you spray your boots with a waterproofing spray (and/or did you do anything else to keep them in good condition)? I am certainly hoping these will be THE snow boots for me for many years...

Love, love, love how this forum always brings my fashion dilemmas to a happy ending!

Those look terrific on you and thank you for the reviews! Ultimately it comes down to fit and the weather conditions you are facing. As I mentioned, I tried so many boots and the Uggs ultimately gave me the best fit. It sounds as if our feet might be similar because I had exactly the same issue in the Kamiks -- I'm just between sizes no matter what. I hope the Uggs give you many years of warmth. I have to say that mine are now 3 years in of heavy wear and you would never know it -- they're lasting extremely well. I didn't wear them quite as much last year since we had more ice than snow, but in their first year and this year I had them on every day for months.

KM - hope you enjoy them. I was one of the people who recommended them. I have the short and tall version. I do recommend putting some kind of arch support in there. I developed a neuroma wearing them constantly during the winter. If I'd known to put a support in I might have prevented the damage or if I made sure to take them off and wear them only outdoors. I can still wear them but I need my orthotics. Just a cautionary tale of how making one problem, raynauds very happy, caused another unexpected issue.

Thank you for your review. I have seen the Uggs and the Bos and Co. I agree that the Bos and Co are gorgeous. I have not seen that style (I don't think) but the ones I have seen were beautiful. Very tempting. I may buy a pair next year when I am in Montreal.

Those are all gorgeous. I wonder if Sorel boot liners would work with any of these. It might solve the fit issue with the Kamiks. I would guess you would have to size up with the others to make room. I don't have any experience with them but here's a link:
https://www.bing.com/shop?q=so.....5DD2D6FC06

The snow-boot saga for Raynaud's-ailing feet comes to an end! Thank you so much to all of you who replied to my original posts with suggestions of boots, plus other helpful tips on gear to keep warm.

I ordered and tried three boots:

1. Uggs Adirondacks, highly recommended by Suz (and seconded by others!)
2. Kamik NewYork2, recommended by many of you
3. Bos and Co Holding Boot, recommended by the Amazon bot

The verdict:

The Ugg Adirondacks are sublimely warm!!! Soft, comfy, well-constructed. I had to order a full size up and have just a tiny bit of extra room for thick socks or toe warmers. It's a bit hard to get my feet in and out and so I have to loosen up and tighten the laces everytime, but a small price to pay for boots that feel warm, protective, and lightweight too. Got them at a great price on Amazon.

The Kamiks were too small although technically they were a half size big for me. They were too short (though comfortable in width). They definitely felt very warm. But they don't have half sizes so I'm convinced the next size up would be too big for me as I'd have to go 1,5 size up.

The Bos and Co were a dilemma. They are absolutely gorgeous in person. True to the picture and even prettier on the feet. They seem to be excellently constructed all around, with one exception: the lining (wool) doesn't feel very secure and there were already a few loose tufts in the boot right out of the box. I can imagine it would wear down quickly. It breaks my heart because the boots are beautiful and also very, very, very comfortable on the foot. Ultimately, however, they are nowhere nearly as warm as the Uggs. The lining is a lot thinner (see pics for comparison) and the construction, while solid, doesn't feel as insulated.

If I had the money I would keep the Bos and Co (despite the tufts of wool floating out) because they are so gorgeous, and look like would last a long time with the exception of the lining. But to me they would work only in milder days, and right now my money is better spent on something that will keep my toes from freezing!

Thanks again to the forum. Can't wait to test out my new boots outside!
