I think this could become a real signature for you - taupe in summer, cognac/darker brown in winter. As others have noted it goes with lots of dark and light neutrals. I think you mentioned elsewhere that you’re embracing your tendency to oscillate between black and navy as your dark neutral — cognac/brown footwear would seamlessly accommodate those switches. Nice that a brown accessories complement provides cohesiveness and contrast at the same time — maybe a way to balance your needs for both? I guess my only advice, coming from a non-matchy person mind you, is to not get too hung up on exactly matching shades. I'd like to do similar for fall/winter, but pulling from the darker parts of my hair (I have a lot of hair colours to work with lol! and you can see in the photos the difference the light makes as to what colour gets pulled).</p> <p><b>The wardrobe holes:</b></p> <p>- fall flat shoes that are dressier than a sneaker, but not a dressy shoe per se<br />- bookending purse for everyday fall/winter (was considering burgundy a while ago, but I think a bookend colour will feel more versatile to me)<br />- bookending snow boots</p> <p>I find it tricky to settle in on a colour as there are *so* many shades of brown ... I think I need something neither too cool and gray, nor too orange. Trying not to be too pedantic about it. Thoughts and insights welcome! I've created an inspo collection and hope to get to the mall this weekend to investigate in person. </p> <p><b>ETA </b>- What I've got - I was able to darken these shoes with some polish. The bag is too big really but does the job and the colour looks alright? Appreciate your thoughts!</p>
