My Docs are very, very lightweight and comfortable for me, the thick sole is like a shock absorber. Birks are my indoor shoes and incredibly comfortable. The Docs make much more of a statement and presence in an outfit, but my Birks are by far my most worn. (My Docs are new consignment pick ups and I got white ones new on Poshmark. The dr martens are more dressy and stylish (in my opinion) but I will have to break them in. They are also more expensive so don’t want to pay if I am going to find them uncomfortable. I know the Birkenstocks will be comfortable from day 1 but are not as stylish. I am on my feet all day but want something to wear with my cropped pants and dresses to work. Thoughts?
