I think all of these should stay, but the white one I can't see as much as a winter piece.

Thanks for your feedback!

I like the idea of wearing the white skirt as a special occasion outfit. I think my biggest problem with it is as it is such a dramatic statement piece, I have a mental block about how to wear it. I don't think it'd be part of my everyday capsule but adding it to a special occasion capsule would allow me to keep it in rotation.

The 3 black mini skirts- I'm going to keep the straight mini and one of the fit and flares, I don't know if I wear them enough to justify keeping both, but I might make that decision when I reach my goal weight.

The pencil skirt- I relieved to hear the print isn't dated and I've been perusing the archives to get some good top and topper ideas.

The grey skirt will only be in my Autumn wardrobe- will definitely be phased out by November.

Any other feedback or suggestions are more than welcome.

I love ALL of these skirts on you! I don't think the print is dated - I would pair it with something very sleek and modern to show off your beautiful figure :)

The white skirt... I would wear that to the Nutcracker or other holiday show, with a fitted black top or turtleneck and a gazillion pearls :)

All of your skirts look great right now! I'd wait until you need alterations, to worry about whether or not it's worth the time and cost. You may find they are worthwhile, or you may find something you love more for your new size.

Great skirts!

#1: I'd leave that one for summer. The colour would be fine for winter -- I'm a big fan of winter white -- but the fabrication is far too light. It screams "garden party".

#2 and 3: Actually I thought these were two pictures of the same skirt. Both very cute, very flattering. Wear them a lot while you're young, because short flouncy skirts start too look wrong on an older woman. (And yes, I can hear everybody yelling about age rules and injustice, but there IS such a thing as age appropriateness, and certain things look much better on a younger woman. Actually it works in reverse, too; some things actually look better on an older woman).

#4: Love that skirt. I'd play that one by ear. You never know how it will fit once you lose the last few pounds. You don't know where the pounds are going to come off. It might still look good, or it might need a small alteration. Actually what might happen is that the skirt will simply sit a little lower on your hips, which means it will be longer but still fab. It's very short, so an extra inch or so at the hem is no problem.

#5: Fabulous skirt! That one is my favourite. That silhouette looks great on you, and is always classic.

#6: This one might be a bit light and floaty for winter. I like the colour though. Maybe save for spring?

I actually like them all. I would play around with different tops and toppers and tights and see what combinations you come up with. I think they all could still work in your closet as long as you are able to put some outfits together. maybe some homework for you?

:)

You wear skirts well. And all your pieces look feminine yet restrained.

White skirt you wear and want to wear more. Keep of course. Not sure how to wear in winter since it also seems lightweight in heft and mood.

Skirts 2 & 3 look very similar. One you wear often, the other you feel is better quality. For whatever reason you prefer 2, it's probably worth keeping. If you still love and rely on it a few pounds from now and it's still in good shape, for me it would be worth altering. Love and wear means a lot.

Skirt 3 isn't a favorite? Do you wear it as a backup when 2 is in the wash? If it doesn't see much action and you don't need it as a replacement or backup for 2, it could go and make room for new things in your new size.

I also love 4. Looks great. Keep and alter when needed.

Skirt 5 feels a little dated, but not sure I can justify that opinion. Also somehow less flattering, though a nice fit. I think I don't like the print for you, maybe too geometric for your soft features?

I think the grey can transition well into fall with sweaters. Not sure about the weight for winter, but with tights or leggings there is potential.

You look like a dancer in your skirts. Very nice.

Nice skirts! I would probably put the white away until next season.
You really rock the shorter flare and it is so on trend.

Lovely skirts!

#1 will be fab in winter. What about a white base topper, for a column of white, with black sheer hose, a black jacket, and a pop of color in the accessories?

#2/4 appear to fit now. Cross that bridge when you come to it. Weight loss isn't even all over the bodies, so fits can be different than you expect. If you spend money on alternations, maybe save it for #3, which is better quality.

#5 is an on-trend mini. Love it. Play with lots of modern top silhouettes (Angie has some great posts on this) to keep it fresh and interesting.

#6 can be worn easily in Fall, although it might be a big cool in Winter, if you're in my kind of climate!

Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of a wardrobe clear-out for the new season and to clear out my pre-weight loss clothes as well.

I've started going through my skirts and dresses- have removed any which are too big or worn out, and have photographed the remaining skirts and dresses which are suitable for Autumn/ Winter (I'll post the dresses separately).

I'd love your feedback on whether I should keep or donate them as it's been over a year since I had a wardrobe clearout.

My style preferences are retro/ vintage, bombshell, preppy, trendy, and maybe a little tomboy.

Skirt 1- White midi length skirt. I often wear it in summer but would love to be able to wear it more in winter. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Skirt 2- Black mini skirt- I think this will be way too big for me when I reach goal weight but is it worth getting altered? It's super comfortable and my go to for dance classes, etc.

Skirt 3- Black mini skirt- This skirt is much better quality than the skirt in the previous picture.

Skirt 4- Black mini skirt- I love this skirt but also have the fear it will be too big for me when I lose the last 4 lbs. Is it worth getting altered? I love the zips on it.

Skirt 5- Print pencil skirt- I just fit back into this so I have no fit worries about it but is it worth holding onto? Is the print dated/ out of fashion?

Skirt 6- High-lo hem grey skirt- Just fit back into this as well. Can it be transitioned into a winter wardrobe or should it be put away for next summer?
