I have two pairs and wear them in the deep winter months. They are toasty warm. This year they offer them in 3 color choices -- gray, dark wash and a lighter wash. Texstyle I have seen flannel lined jeans.  That was a few decades ago.  I think it was at Eddie Bauer.  I will keep my eyes open for them.  I have some long underwear that go under pants.  I can not stand the feeling.  Joy I did have leather and suede pants in the past.  Good idea about the wool pants.  I will check out the local thrift store.  Even a new pair would be a good idea. La Ped I also live in gear.  That is our life.  I am starting to think wool pants is a good idea.  Hmm. Angie a Leopard topper is on my HEWI list.  I have been searching for one.  Another pair of cords is a great idea.  They are comfy.  Suz we do escape winter for a few months.  But we still have to be here for some of it.  I like velvet pants.  And cords.  I am on it. So this means you have a shorter winter..maybe 2 to 3 months of real winter? I spend a lot of time in gear in the winter too -- fleece-lined hiking pants, fleece-lined running tights, etc. But then, I also spend a lot of time in gear in the summer. Spring and fall are definitely easier for me to play the style game; once the weather gets extreme I sort of give up. :) For a long time I wore wool trousers, too, but I've donated or consigned all my old pairs: they were all too big or very worn. I'm searching for new ones at the moment. Same goes for corduroy -- I have one pair that I really need to replace before the seams give out.  Anonymous on "Wardrobe Audit: Part Three. When jeans are not warm enough, I wear tights under them. It's a good use for old tights or an unfortunate color choice, like lavendar or green. Have you considered leather pants? They are my go-to choice for really cold days as they cut the icy wind. Lined wool is also nice and they are often abundant at thrift and consignment stores. I LOVE denim as well but can only wear it comfortably outdoors for about five months of the year. I think I agree with your climate you could use some more cold weather bottoms.  The 7FAM jeans are great! Flannel lined jeans maybe? Have you ever tried those? Kiwigal/Sally The winters here are very cold.  We do escape for about 2 months so that helps.  But I don't have much to wear except fleecy leggings.  But then I live a very casual lifestyle in the winter. La Ped It is difficult to find something warm to wear when it is -30 C.  I live in gear but I can't think of anything else.  Move perhaps to the West Coast. Suz I don't know what to wear when it is bone chilling cold.  Fleece leggings are about it.  My Sorels (not fashionable ones!) certainly do not make a style statement paired with these leggings.  Thank you everyone for the great feedback about the 7FAM jeans.  I have been enjoying them.  Suz on "Wardrobe Audit: Part Three. If you can't wear denim in the cold it seems like you don't have enough bottoms for super cold weather. Or at least it would not be enough for me and it is not very many in comparison to your warmer weather pants capsule.
