So sad about the Boden jeans - I have enjoyed them vicariously on you. Inexpensive fun replacement? I have been really enjoying these. I'm 5"2 with a longer inseam and with a released hem, they are full length on me

I hear you on the underpinnings. So hard to replicate and even department store brands like Hanes etc seemed to have changed their cuts and fabrics drastically. I have had some luck with Pact Organic.

The Boden jeans are a disappointment. I find jeans so hard to buy. Fortunately, you have others to wear.

I would expect more from Boden, too, and I would also contact them to tell them. You never know -- you might get a credit.

I seem to wear out knitwear and comfy shoes over and above anything else. As for underwear, that is usually a January restock, so this may be why my current underwear is looking a bit shabby after a year of hard wear.

I’ve also had elastic blowouts recently on some beloved basics. Some of them I even considered taking to the tailor for new elastic, but then I felt a bit ridiculous. I mean, 10 year old stained sweatpants??? Surely time to move on.

Well, they survived longer than a pair of Kut cords I had a few years ago. I got maybe 10 wears out of those before DS ripped one of the back pockets off and tore the back yoke seam. I was lucky it happened at home and not in public!

The back pockets are, admittedly, a weak point because DS likes to tug on them to get my attention. When he was younger and I carried him on my back all the time he would stick his feet into them too! I need pants with rivets...

I would expect more from Boden jeans, especially! I have some Old Navy jeans with 70 wears that are looking pretty thin in places, but I’m not overly surprised by that, and only spent maybe $30 on them.

I know it’s frustrating to find replacements when things wear out, but it always makes me happy to know I’ve well and truly worn out a piece of clothing. Pat yourself on the back for that!

That is so weird -- and wrong -- that the jeans did that after only 60 wears! Too bad because they are great-looking jeans. I hope you find a good replacement. Jeans are SO hard (at least they are for me!).

I did some culling this weekend: a pair of pj shorts (no elastic left in the waistband), my oldest underpinnings (again with the dead elastic), two pairs of socks (holes in the heels and toes), and a pair of jeans (my Boden Cavendish with the side stripe - sob!). My oldest pair of yoga pants is on the chopping block as well (threadbare spots on the knees and bum).

The jeans were the only surprise. I ran them through the wash for the first time in a while, and when they came out (cold water, no dryer) the stitching and fabric around the back pockets had just disintegrated. Serves me right for buying stretchy jeans! They're a 98/2 cotton blend, which is usually pretty sturdy. These had at least 60 wears on them, but I still expect more from jeans. I don't really need to replace them immediately; I have 4 other pairs of blue jeans and 2 pairs of black jeans. Also, we are heading into wool trouser season anyway, and I am trying to get more wear out of my dresses as well. But I bet I will want a new pair come spring...

The socks will most likely be taken care of at Christmas; I always seem to get a few pairs. I should replace the other basics ASAP to avoid laundry bottlenecks but, ugh, all the underwear I own -- three different types -- are discontinued models, and the replacements I've tried have been seriously disappointing. At least I'm looking forward to trying out some new yoga pants (such a gear junkie).

Oh -- and I forgot my flip-flops at the pool after DS's swim lesson. Fingers crossed they'll be in the lost & found when we go back next weekend. Otherwise, I'm in the market for some new sub-$10 sandals...
