It's interesting that you have picked out the trends that you want to incorporate. I am thinking I should do that more. Tanya said something similar about focussing on the silhouette (s) you want to go with during a season. I am trying that approach this spring/summer. Fwiw, I don't think 9 is too many summer tops. My experience is everyday summer tops get trashed pretty quickly. This summer I need to replace at least 3 tops that I only bought last summer. (Now faded, covered in micro holes.) So it's hard to avoid a certain amount of churn.

Great planning. It sounds like you are very focused and know the direction your wardrobe is heading. I tend to do this in my head, but I need to get it down on paper.

Wow -- you have done an amazing job, Shedev. I think it is terrific that you have analyzed what fall trends would most fit in with your style goals. Are you purchasing the Nicholas K Spectra jacket? It is fabulous.

Your planning has paid off with finding the right sized wardrobe, and focusing on the trends that you want to pursue is smart. An easy way to add maximalism is with scarves and other accessories.

I was thinking exactly what Staysfit said. I haven't yet made a laser focus like this on the trends I want to pursue and those I already have adopted -- great idea. And, as she also said, it's really good that you're thinking in terms of how items will work with what you already own.

Nice summary and strategy for the future. I think it's good to focus on the trends you want to target. I like that you have also considered how the sought after items will work with what you already have. Too often, I am attracted to something and purchase it without first considering how it will play with my current wardrobe.

For El Cee's challenge thread, I chose wardrobe planning. I've never been one to shop with a list. It seems like the next logical evolution of the 5 piece. The pieces are in finds below.
First, the summer wardrobe eval. Mostly, I did really well.
1 vest
1 light jacket
9 summer tops- yikes, very un 5 piece, most were inexpensive, some thrift
1 knit
1 sweatshirt
3 bottoms
1 shoe
2 boot
not included is gear that is used primarily for workout, I think of it as the uniform of my physical activities and just buy as needed.
My clothes are getting a good number of wears so far this year so I believe I'm close to the right for me wardrobe size, which is about 160 pieces.
A bigger than usual purge of summer tops last year led to more buying in this category.
I didn't use a budget this year, and my spending has been a little high. So going forward, I'm going back to using one.

The fall trends I'm most interested in are
maximalism
waist def
high fashion puffer

the maybees
cropped pants
velvet
plaid coat
sharp shoulders

I have
extended sleeves
navy military
platform shoes

my specific wish list is
tailored top with sleeve detail to wear with my vests
maximal pants that tuck into boots
warm upscale coat
sweater in nonclassic style

Thank you for reading this far, all feedback and suggestions are welcome.
