We've all bought shoes that we have a bad relationship with and they need to go. If they are still uncomfortable after several wears, I doubt that will change. You did write that you don't really wear closed shoes because of your climate. So would you wear the other pair with these conditions? If so, buy your favoured shoe and be sure to enjoy and wear them.
