Maya, you are so on for a meetup!! Too exciting! :)

Ok, I just placed my order this minute! I got:
The leather moto jacket
The blackberry trench
The cobalt dress
The second sweet pea top
The Michael Kors blouse
The Jag herringbone pants

Why not the scarf, you ask? They were out of the moss green, and I wasn't comfortable enough with the orange. If the moss green comes back, I'll snag it when I'm in the states next month.

Thanks to one and all for your help and feedback... I totally had fun with this and hope y'all weren't bored!

Michelle, I love all your picks. You would look fantastic in any of those items, but my faves are very on par with Angie's picks. In order, I like:

1. Brown moto jacket
2. Blackberry trench
3. Scarf (I am IN LOVE with the purple/green one- I want some NAS shopping! ;)

I think those three would be perfect, but if you want a little bit more, I'd go with:

4. Cobalt dress
5. second Sweet Pea top
6. MK top (really lovely print)

I would leave the purple cardigan and the cerise pullover. They're fine, even nice, pieces, but nothing special at all. You can get similar knitwear anywhere, in my opinion. I think NAS is for more "special" items :)

Good luck with the ordering! Let us know what you end up getting, yes?

I'm DYING to take some YLFabbers to the Short Hills Mall. Every time I go I think it would be so much fun. Most things are way out of my reach financially, but it's great to window shop (and I'll definitely be going there for my glasses from now on).

Thank you, everyone, for the help in nailing down my selection! I do believe I'll be placing an order tomorrow, and I'll let you know what gets phoned in. But just to clarify, Angie, you think I should get the second v-neck sweet pea top rather than the one you chose?
Maya, I bet we will be 10 minutes away!! I'll be training at the Seeing Eye in Morristown, and as far as I know that's the only guide dog school in the area! We students do take the train into New York as part of training sometimes, so I'm about 99% sure we're talking about the same place!

Michelle! I think you are sorted on your selections (which are all equally fabulous to me...though I am partial to the dress). But I wanted to ask where in NJ you will be? I'm very curious. There is a big guide dog training center where I live. I see them all the time while at the train station and wondering if that is where you will be, because if so, you'll be 10 minutes away!

As always, it’s my pleasure, Michelle. I hope you had fun too.

You REALLY nailed the final selection. Well done! Here’s what I think:

o	Moto jacket in brown – CHECK.

o	Blackberry trench – CHECK. A “neutral” colour for you. Won’t clash with your colour palette at all. Don’t worry, sweet pea. I hope that your quezzies have been sufficiently answered by our clever lasses. The revere collar is flattering and will hide anything underneath it, especially with a scarf – not that you need to hide anything.

o	Scarf – CHECK. But I believe it’s old out?

If this is all you get – you’ve done VERY well at the NAS.

Next on my list of priorities:

o	Cobalt dress – it’s yum, yum, yum, yum, yummy.

o	Second Sweet pea top. A no brainer and very versatile.

How say you?

You have picked a lot of great fall items, Michelle! I also agree with everyone else. My favorites for you:
- Leather jacket
- Blackberry trench
- Cobalt dress
- Second SweetPea top (the first one appears to be sold out)
- Scarf: The orange one, or the green one if you can find it

I've been eyeing that moto jacket and cobalt dress too -- I love both pieces. GET!

Between the tops, I prefer the MK blouse and second Sweet Pea top.

The scarf has so much character and is a MUST HAVE! I'll try to describe it as I see it... The top half is a warm pumpkin orange plaid with stripes of blackberry and a deeper orange. The bottom half is a feminine paisley print with shades of purple (sort of a lavender in my mind), grey, orange and green. It is beautiful! The combo of plaid and paisley is unusual and so unique.

Michelle, the brown leather coat will make any outfit instantly fab. If you don't get anything else, get this piece.

I echo what others say about the blackberry trench. It's almost a neutral. The color is not bright. It looks a bit lighter than eggplant (very deep purple) and is more of a blue/purple than a reddish one.

The cobalt blue of the dress would be gorgeous on you. I'll leave the style to the judgement of others as I'm not good at that without seeing it on. It looks more like a tunic to wear over leggings or skinny jeans to me.

The purple of the cardigan looks like the pure purple of the color wheel. Not super bright, but definitely not a neutral either.

Let me take a stab at describing the scarf. The pattern for any color is a large plaid for most of the scarf with a large paisley (curvy lines that form shapes that look like twisted teardrops with more somewhat floral looking shapes in and around them) on the ends. The almond colored one is an almost golden camel tan with a large amount of bright turquoise. The other dominant color in this one looks like a dark taupey brown. The paisley ends which will show most when wearing the scarf, also have some white or cream and what looks like it might be charcoal grey.
The orange scarf would be my choice with grey if orange looks good on you. The plaid is a bittersweet or bright dark orange with also a softer medium shade of orange (two different orange shades) and medium purple and a tiny bit of lime (yellow-green) green. The paisley ends have much more of the lime green and what looks like a silvery grey although it might be a light lavender. I hope this makes sense.
Edit: If you can find the green scarf that seems to be sold out, it would be the best with grey. It is lime green and purple with fushia and medium grey. The paisley has mostly grey and fushia with white added. The style of the print for all of these is unusual and a very modern treatment of oldies like plaid and paisley.

My choices of 2 tops would be the second Sweet Pea top and the sangria pullover (the warmest of the group for winter). All the tops are winners and all so different. The Michael Kors is dressier to me. It depends on what you need most.

The blackberry trench (which is another great piece) looks like you could button it all the way up to hide your shirt completely, or open it a bit to show it off. Try as I might, I can't really think of a color that it would really clash with. It would be fine with the burgundy boots that you've been wanting. The color has a lot of black in it, with just a tinge of purple, so it reads almost neutral.
I adore the cobalt dress- you have to get that. I'm not particularly crazy about the purple cardi- I don't dislike it, just don't think it's particularly special IMHO.
On the tops- I really like the sangria pullover. It's more of a pink color on my monitor, and I think it would look fab on you. It'd be versatile for layering, so my first vote is for that one. I also really like the pink Sweet Pea top for you- those are my two picks. I'm not a huge fan of the Michael Kors top because of the sleeves. They would bother me, and they might be hard to fit into a jacket because of their volume and low armhole.
I love the interesting details of the scarf- it's plaid, and then has a paisley border (two of my favorite patterns). This is a good choice both for the two jackets you have picked out, and a gray coat. Much more fun than a solid color. Plus, it has cashmere- yum!
The pants are nice, but since they are not exactly what you are looking for I would pass unles you are in need of a pair of gray pants.
Thanks so much for letting us help- it's nice to be able to shop vicariously through someone else when I can't do my own

Michelle, here is my take, and it's similar to everyone else's:

1. A must-have. Leather jackets seem to be a huge focus of NAS this year and the deals are incredible.

2. Trench: Yes, yes, yes. Oh my gosh, it has a hood! What could be better? It's a deep purple, like a ripe plum. Delicious. I am not sure if it will clash with burgundy boots. I guess it depends how red the boots are. I would start with the coat and then worry about the boots. You know everyone will help you with boots if you post photos!

3. I am in love with the cobalt dress and can completely see you wearing it. Another must-have.

For the remaining items, I think you have to decide based on budget. The grey Jag pants look awfully versatile. That might be a smart buy. I might get the Sweet Pea top that Angie suggested, with a cardigan that you can wear over it. I can't see the first link, it just goes to Nordie's home page, but that pink patterned Sweet Pea top with a cardi that matches.

Unfortunately, the scarf looks to be sold out in the green color, which would have been the best match. What's left is orange, and a yellowy brown, which is apparently the color of almond butter! I liked the green much better ...

You're SO welcome Michelle! It was no trouble at all. In fact, I had loads of fun: I'm not in a position to shop the NAS myself at the moment, so I'm getting my shop on via you;-)

Okay, here's my two cents:

If it's at all possible, please get:

- the leather moto jacket in brown - it is stunning, very stylish, extremely versatile and you'll wear it all the time

- ditto for the trench in blackberry - like I said on San's thread, I don't think there is a colour that wouldn't go with the blackberry (maybe burgundy will be a little more difficult, but I'd have to see the boots first to be sure).
The coat can be buttoned up all the way to your throat (that's how the model is wearing it), so your shirt is completely invisible, or you could leave the last button unbuttoned, I imagine you would get a peep of what's underneath then;-) The detachable hood is not bulky at all. At either side of the bust there is a vertical line that continues all the way to the bottom hem, very slimming methinks. The oversized metallic buttons are not in your face, but a fun detail. There are two smaller metallic buttons on each pocket as well.

- the cobalt blue dress: it's stunning Michelle, definitely 'special'. It is just so simply elegant, the cowl neck is fab and the colour is yum.

These are the statement pieces, and I remember Angie saying that the NAS is all about that: getting the special items (usually more expensive), and then see if you have money left in the kitty for extra stuff.

The following would be fab 'extras':

- purple cardigan: because the ruffled patch pockets make it different (feminine and fun) than the many cardigans we'll likely be seeing in the near future AND that purple will look stunning on you

If you buy the first Sweet Pea top, then I think I'd go for the Michael Kors blouse (pattern and cream&black are so chic and fun) and the pullover in Sangria (fab basic, the gorgeous colour takes it up a notch - not sure if you'll be able to find this colour anywhere else). That way you'll have three very different and very versatile tops that will likely go with all the skirts and pants in your closet.

- scarf: a great accessory to have, something I'd be smiling about all Winter. I think all three colours could work with a grey coat. (oops I just saw that there are now only two colours available on-line). I hope somebody else can describe the pattern and colours a little better for you!

Pants: I think they would look lovely on you, I hope the others chime in;-)

Isn't this exciting!! Shopping is fun;-)

1. Brown leather jacket: GET.
2. Blackberry trench: GET. GET IT NOW.
It's a fabulous rich grape-y purple that will go with almost every color. It is a classic trench so it closes up nicely at the neck. It's seriously great and I am kicking myself I did not see it before I instituted my shopping ban.
3. The cobalt dress is adorable, very much like the one Laura65 and julijuli got too. Perfect for leggings! GET.
4. The purple cardigan is another deep rich plum purple, just a wee bit darker than the trench. Love the cute pockets! I would GET in a heartbeat.
5. Tops: The sangria sweater is nothing special, you can get something similar in any store. The pink multi link is going to the main NAS page, but I remember it from your first thread and I loved it! I would GET it and the draped MK banded top -- that one is so unusual and pretty.
6. I LOVE that scarf. LOOOOOOVE. The orange would be great with the trench and your leather jacket. GET GET GET GET.
7. The pants look very nice; I am a big fan of cuffed pants. I don't know if I would call them amazing, but you would get a lot of wear from them. Your other choices are much more amazing.

You know you do! :)

So after the unbelievable help I received from Angie and Inga, who devoted goodness knows how much time to identifying potential items for me, I'm down to finalizing my choices. Thank you once again, ladies, for all your help and work. I really hope it wasn't too onerus! Thanks too to everyone else who chimed in on the earlier thread. Your thoughts are just as welcome here, obviously! :)

Ok, here's what I'm starting to think:
I'm probably going to have to get that leather moto jacket, in brown as Angie suggested:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

I'm also slowly pining for that blackberry trench, but I want to verify something before I commit.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....3&P=1
How versatile is it colour-wise? I mean, are there any
colours it would clash dreadfully with in tterms of my outfits? What's the styling of the coat? Does it reveal a lot of your shirt? I just want to know
so I never wear it with a top or pants of the wrong colour. I'm also wondering how poorly it would go with burgundy if I get these boots I want. Not too
fussed if it doesn't work, as the burgundy boots are more for winter, but wanted to check.

I'm loving the idea of the cobalt dress, may have to get it unless people think it's not totally special:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

I may pass on NAS jeans altogether, as returning things from Canada is expensive and a hassle. I may as well focus on finding something here, or shop Jags/David Kahns when I'm in New Jersey for guide dog training in September. As we all know, jean fitting is rarely accomplished overnight. :)

Cardigan: Thinking about the purple one that Angie posted, but could use some info on what sort of purple it is (plum, bright etc):
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=1

I need help narrowing down tops. I'm likely going to go for this sweet pea in pink multi:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....59~6007135?
I'm also liking the looks of these three:
Michael Kors blouse:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=2
Second sweet pea:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....1&P=3
Pullover in Sangria: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....0&P=1

If I had to get just two of these four, which ones would you suggest?

Scarf: There's a consensus developing that I should get this plaid one.
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....9&P=2
It's a winter fabric... Would it look good with the grey coat I foresee myself getting, and if so which colour should I get (store colour names like "almond butter" are less than helpful). If someone could take another crack at describing the pattern and colours in this, I'd also appreciate it.

Pants: the only ones that could potentially work are these, but I may pass unless someone thinks they're truly amazing. I was looking for more of a microcheck:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....5&P=5

In the interest of my budget, I'll probably shop consignment or Ebay for handbags.

We're almost there, ladies! Thanks for your infinite patience.
