Nicole, last year J Crew had a good selection of walk shorts. They had both casual, chino kinds and suit kinds. You might want to check out their website. I really fell in love with their seersuckers suit shorts.

Bermudas remind me of the 80's style shorts, so I found it funny when they came back in 'style.' Although I really think the modern incarnation is much better than the old style.

OK, I honestly have nothing to lose. My mother will do the alterations for free. And she'll even help me determine the best length!

Go for it, Nicole. I did that with some casual capris, and now I have casual walk shorts that are much more flattering.

OK...I have some pants that are capri length, and now I'm wondering if I could have them shortened to a walking short length. Since I won't wear them as capri's anymore, I don't really have anything to lose, right?

Yes! In my vocab, “ walk shorts” are anything from Bermuda shorts, to skinny capris that end ABOVE or ON the calf (also known as clam diggers). Some styles are wider at the hem while others are tapered. You’ll find that different retailers refer to the same item as different things. It’s confusing.

As long as they’re not short shorts or those awful leg-shortening and unflattering capris, they‘re ALL walk shorts to me. Make sense?

You’ll see a lot more walk shorts in stores soon. April deliveries of final Summer collections are about to hit stores, so wait a wee while.

Ok I've been window shopping online for walking shorts. Alot of places refer to longer length shorts as Bermuda Shorts. Are they same thing as Walking Shorts? They do seem to be a bit more casual than what I'm looking for--since I'm looking for some that I can wear to work. Does anyone have an good sources for Walking Shorts that fall somewhere inbetween casual and dressy?
