BUT...you do have your arm extended in the pic and you may be absolutely right that IRL the impression is more floaty. I have done that a few times because I prefer the look to tied in the back. If you cut off the ties and then decided you didn't want to surrender the waist completely, you could always slap on a wide belt. I love the proportions! The SA and I tried it a couple if ways, and in three different sizes, and this was the size and tie method we thought looked best.
