And don't do two museums in one day.&nbsp;</p> <p>If you have time for one museum only, then Van Gogh. It is about 2-3 hours long visit which is just the right length of time for the amount of visual stimulation and impressions.</p> <p>Rijksmuseum is magnificent, but huge and overwhelming. I'd recommend preparing yourself in advance&nbsp;and planning to visit specific exhibits only. Great option if the weather is not good and you need to spend a day indoors.</p> <p>Try the cheese called&nbsp;Old Amsterdam. Strong. It's my favourite Euro city. The architecture and canals are so very unique. The food is divine, and the historical significance is sublime. So very&nbsp;cultured. The perfect mixture of old AND modern. It's killer.&nbsp;</p> <p>Oh goodness. Where do I start?&nbsp;&nbsp;Must eat pannekoeken, rijstafel, stroopwafels&nbsp;and have lots of tea with cake every day at 4pm. It's a Dutch tradition.&nbsp;</p> <p>Must take bikes out on a ride. Everyone rides bikes in the Netherlands with kids and dogs in tow - in REGULAR clothes. It's very safe because there are bike paths next to the roads.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Von Gogh Museum is by far my best. And the Anne Frank House is a must, although very depressing. You need to get to the Anne Frank house early and plan ahead because it gets very busy - and they only allow x-amount of people to tour the annex at a time. You climb right into the tiny attic where she hid from the Nazis with her family. It's going to give you goosebumps.&nbsp;</p> <p>I love to shop at De Bijenkorf. The Negen Straatjes are fun too.&nbsp;</p> <p>Must see the Red Light District. But be careful. Do not go off the beaten track.
