Sure you run across the occasionally<br /> overpriced item because it still has the original sales tags on it, but it is<br /> nothing like a consignment shop or vintage boutique. I live for thrift shops<br /> that are hidden (like the ones from back in the day), and in local urban neighborhoods,<br /> sometimes targeting low income families. However,&nbsp;maybe I haven't gone&nbsp;often enough, so there's that feedback loop thing. Same for consignment--having a hard time finding true collector vintage or not-dated designer stuff. I had just a bit of luck with some basics. Instead, we have a "consignment" shop run by a very savvy prior boutique manager who has a really great eye for clothing. She probably would have charged -- and gotten -- much, much more for that coat. A real thrift shop, especially one run as a non-profit, is a completely different animal. I miss those...they remind me of when I was little and my mom used to take us to one (we were a big family, and that store got us a lot of great winter coats). </p> <p>That is just an amazing coat and it looks so, so stunning on you.
