Angie - thanks for the info. I snagged a 4 also because I’m shorter through the torso and I may do better with a more fitted look with the draping and ruching. But at least I’ll be able to compare them.

Yay, Gryffin! I hope you like it as much as I do. Will try to model it this week.

I tried my size, AND a size up.

Both fit well, albeit differently. My true size fit like the model on the left. Body con. It was a little short for tucking which is not great for puppies that need attention, and working with clients. I'm active! So I went with the size up that fits like the model on the right. Everything stays put, IYKWIM :)

Angie - I just ordered the black. I usually don’t find ruching flattering on me. It’s often too much fabric. But I’ve been looking for a mesh too. I’m kicking myself for not buying a black polka dot a year maybe 2 ago at nordies. But yes otherwise it’s perfect. I sized up to the 6 so hopefully it will fit as that’s my AS size. Also I do like these fitted. But color does look perfect. Will let you know. Thanks so much for the recommendation!!
Suz - It’s a great piece at a very good price. Not everyone’s cuppa as it’s a real lady at tea kinda look. But It’s perfect for me especially paired with rate or edgies pieces. The juxtaposition and tension just do it for me!! Great w skirts.

So the Jcrew emilie patch pocket lady swacket just arrived. IMHO this a a run don't walk with the 30% discount. I bought the black. Length on my 5'3" short rise self is just to top high hip. If you have a longer torso it will look like the model. This is a very heavy cotton. Really nice button but no one paid direction to the embossed alignment. Slightly generous in the shoulders but neatly boxy as the shape is intended. So I would buy TTS. I think down a size would ruin the line and make it too fitted, unless that's the look you want. Very chanel. Sleeves to base of wrist. A good 4 season piece as a stand alone jacket but could be layered with an oversized blazer. I did just snag the black/white sequin version at 30% off may be too much for me, but I'm intrigued. Definitely keeping the black. The vince is more winter/fall weight so I will probably keep both. The vince slightly more relaxed and longer sleeves, the cotton is actually extremely polished when you want to look nice but a blazer is too formal. But this is a great piece for the price.

Bijou you are such a sweetheart!! Honestly you are so much better at wardrobe curation. You are so right on knits. For some reason the perfect can be so difficult to find. Hence multiples when it’s cost reasonable. But when they are gone it leaves a big hole. I’m waiting on the JCrew before final decisions on the sweater jacket. I love outerwear and it’s my most worn category. Jackets, coats and belts do almost all my heavy lifting style wise. I’m wearing my non NAS VB Naida denim blazer today. I think that’s a fun addition that I can see being a workhorse. The hoodie was a no brainer and I think the Barbour will be invaluable this fall. Now I need to sit back and enjoy my goodies!!

Gryffin, a great review and also reminder that it is the right decision to spend money on items that get lots of wear. I find with knitwear it has to be perfect as if there is a detail that is not right, I just don’t wear it. When it is right, it becomes a workhorse.

You have had a brilliant NAS and it has been so instructive to understand the rationale for your wardrobe additions.

Unfrumped - I hope the Vince pants work out. I’m still all over skinnies although the strapping pants have a little more ease. Plus I usually need a midrise which ends up high rise on me. They are different and elegant. I bet you’ll look fab in them!!
Suz - I’ll let you know about the cardigan jacket. It’s cotton so it would be great to span the seasons. It’s an inch shorter in the body which I like. Has nice looking buttons. I’ll let you know.
Angie - I know you like swishy striding Angie! I just can’t handle the volume. But I do love a smart skirt. I wore them almost exclusively as a fellow and young attending. They hay day of AT and little skirt suits. I’m still going to try and work them in because they are an excuse to wear high boots and I’m all set for fall boot patrol!

So get what you mean about constricting pencil skirts! I don't wear them at all, actually. Can't with the amount of walking I do, and with pups I need to attend to constantly. They do look good! I bet those leather and lace skirts are KILLER on you.

gryffin, you might like the Vince high waist utility pants ( linen blend). I got them from NM. Was lured by the appearance of true high waist, which they are, and the adjustable tab waist. And turns out that I can slide a belt through the casing on the back waist and wear them belted.
I had no idea if the “ cargo pockets “ would be a deal- breaker, but in fact they’re so weird that they’re ok— they’re side-zip , which I’ll never use as pockets, lower down on the leg, fortuitously below the widest part on me, so they act more like not very visible fabric structure weighting the legs to hang straight from hip down, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I’m going to try them , but have to see if the linen- blend wrinkling bothers me — it’s less of an issue with black.
I’m sorry I don’t have a Find, due to blockers.

Other than the VB golda scuba skirt which is part of a suit, so I don't break that up that often, these are all my skirts. The DVF scotia which I got at NAS forever ago, I believe you had it as a top pick, is dressy wear only. The wit&wisdom ponte utility skirt and the theory tweed skirts were bought to try skirts at work. I do not wear skirts or dresses without tights or stocking. So would usually wear with black tights and booties, knee boots or OTK boots with a jacket, as expected. Since the skirts are above knee I would only wear them with long jackets. I have plenty that matches and works with both. It's not a matter of styling or fit or feeling comfortable. I just can't decide if I enjoy wearing themat work. When I'm doing full skin exams I start at the head and work to the feet so I end up creeping on the floor and I obviously need to be a little more careful moving in skirts than legging/tunic or pants. The theory leather fits amazingly but again, not a work piece. Hoping eventually will have more places to wear it, I'm still pretty off the grid other than work but I have been looking for a leather skirt for a long time, the stretch leather is elegant, so comfy and doesn't wrinkle up or crease. Just dreamy... DH loves me in dresses and skirts so sometimes you just gotta give him a thrill. My DH absolutely adores stockings and tights, he does not get the hate, the man's opinion hosiery is incredibly sexy, so that works for him and me!

Angie - thanks. That’s exactly how I used my old cardi top with both skirts, skirted leggings etc. Handy and surprisingly difficult to find.
Unfrumped - yes exactly. That’s the criteria. I do well with Vince pants. I have the strapping, cigarette both full length and coin pocket chinos. All work horses. Not much else. But I really like the quality. I just saw and ordered this cardigan from JCrew. Similar. There are more colors. You might want to check it out. https://www.jcrew.com/m/womens.....-sweater-l

Thanks for the review. I would be tempted if it came in gray. Because I lije to wear cardigans as tops. And if not too short. For tops I would wear at shortish lengths with high- waisted pants and skirts, I need ones that don’t have any significant “ welt” or banded bottom that is narrow. But enough heft or drape so the front hangs straight & does not stick out ” baby doll”.

I’m trying a few other Vince items this year, some NAS & some not. I have gotten several good for me items from Vince over the years, which amazes me because I’m certainly not their fit model type!

Okay this is my last NAS purchase. I love a cropped cardigan. I had one that bit the dust several years ago with no replacement in sight. I do think this is over priced for something that is not totally cashmere. That said, this is a HEWI which would get a lot of weekend wear, if history repeats itself. This is a heavy knit, non itchy, nice buttons and placket. Arms run long but I frequently have to cuff my sweater sleeves. It's nicely fluid in the body but arm holes are higher so it does not look sloppy. Substantial but layerable with a non snug jacket. It's a lovely basic. There was a review that this is too cropped. This sweater hits high hip bone, it's not hugely cropped so that reviewer probably has a super long torso, mine is average, but I'm also only 5'3". Took my regular small and fits well on the shoulders. If you want a nice crew cardigan, with a graceful neck, not too high like the JCrew Jackie cardigan for fall/winter/spring or currently cold summer then check it out, but definitely at the sale price.
