DH has been working with the vet, and they want to do something to get some cells out of his lung to test. My cat, then 11 years old, suffered very similar sympthoms three years ago. He sat wheezing on the door mat one morning, and we took him immediately to the vet. It turned out that his lung had collapsed, probably from coughing.&nbsp;They discovered fluid on his lungs, too, and never figured out excactly&nbsp;why he got this. Has your kitty been coughing lately? Our did it for a while, but we ignored it and thought it only war hair balls. However, the treatment was daily tablets that dehydrated him, and he is still on them. If we take him off the coughing returns. My DH is a surgeon and his theory, after seeing the x-rays, is that our cat has a heart disorder of some kind that causes water on his lungs. Our cat is old, like yours, and they may both suffer from deceases that are common among elderly mammals.&nbsp;I hope this makes sense. After a few weeks our cat returned to his normal state and is now in very good shape. I hope the same will be true for yours.
