I think that is probably my maximum boot height. They are rugged but the color and craftmanship add a richness that makes them seem rather polished--at least to me. They are very comfy, I might add. And, TTS. I am normally always a 7 and I got these in a 7 RE: the jeggings--yes, I hear you no tight. Also the boots have quite a bit of dark in them and the dark soles seem to accomplish the bookending as well.
