I have Miele stacking set and the dryer is heat pump/ not vented. I love them. The dryer doesn’t dry to bone dry, but that’s not good for textiles anyway. You have to be diligent about cleaning out the filters, but that’s just a matter of a few seconds. The all in one worked v well as a washer, horrible as a dryer. Had it in a very cold bedsit in Leicester and would do a load just so I can have the dryer radiate warmth so I could sleep.</p> <p>The second was a front loader stack in a brownstone. Worked only marginally better. The clothes did dry but took forever and I imagine used frightful amounts of electricity. Existing washer is top-load, so not stackable, and I've never liked it (came with the house.) So, I'm treating myself to a new set. (And, not even feeling guilty, because a good friend wants my set!) Have any of you had experience with ventless/heat pump dryers? Or the all-in-one washer/dryers that also use a heat pump? They're not super common in the US, but I'm intrigued by the technology. </p>
