I do see your point about the difference between a dress and a huge natural disaster, it does put things into perspective.  Maybe I should just let it go.   Or I may just call VISA and see what they reccommend.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Perhaps in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, their employees were a little bit frustrated about not having water, electricity, roads, subways, food, cellphones, computer access, etc. Lower Manhattan was flooded. My cousin's LI house washed away as did much of the jersey shore. &#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I would give the store a chance to fix the problem before you start a complaint with Visa.

&#060;p&#062;I did go on the company's website and they have a stringent policy regarding returns (basically they don't accept them). However, the employee's assurances trump whatever their policy is, and if they had any sense of discretion, in the undeniable face of emails, they would give you your $150 back (a pittance for them, surely). But no, they have their pissy chichi boutique attitude and haven't caught on yet that they can't pull down everything on the internet that people say about them. Jeez.

&#060;p&#062;Just wanted to add, I once asked my CC company for a chargeback because of a merchant who did not send me my items.  He said they didn't have the stock, offered a refund and never gave it back and stopped returning my emails.  When I called the CC they returned my money on the spot.  The company has 3 months to refute the chargeback, but if you have the emails you will win.  I had all mine and never had to supply them, he never argued.  It took all of 10 minutes on the phone!  They told me the main thing is it has to be done within 30 days of the purchase.

It is a government department dedicated to enforcing consumer law and protecting consumer rights. I recently used it very successfully (not about clothes, but the principle is the same). I would have thought that misrepresenting your ability to return an item would be grounds to escalate this.

My correspondence with you about this order, which went from, oh we have to cancel it do you want to pick something else, me asking to cancel it, you finding the item and asking if I wanted to change it, me asking if it was returnable and being told &#034;of course!&#034; contradicts what that checked box implies.&#060;br /&#062;
     I find your tone rude given the circumstances.  I will not be returning to your site or store, and I will be telling my friends about this experience.&#060;br /&#062;

Go as far up the chain as you can, and then make a really public stink online.  Trust me, I work in the service industry.  Nothing is more frightening than an extremely well thought out and written rant.  Just don't call it a slut dress when you're bashing them online, or you'll sink your credibility.&#060;br /&#062;
