And I’m sorry, I’ve seen the cartoons, and I don’t believe that is a roadrunner LOL</p> <p>on a fashion note, give Athleta skorts a try, I’ve found that they are really good with the pocket situation&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/vegas-baby-yeah#post-2192944 Thu, 06 May 2021 16:34:21 +0000 JAileen 2192944@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>We just got back from a birding trip to the Las Vegas area. &nbsp;We’re both vaccinated, and we wore masks indoors. &nbsp;We spent very little time indoors except our hotel room. &nbsp;In LV, housekeeping did not enter our room for those three days. &nbsp;For dinner we got takeout, and ate in our room. &nbsp;We did not even get close to the Strip. &nbsp;We were in a grocery store looking for insect repellant, and one of the employees asked if we were planning to gamble. &nbsp;I explained that we can gamble at our grocery stores, too. &nbsp;</p> <p> <div>It was pretty hot, with highs in the upper 80s and mid 90s. &nbsp;We weren’t used to this as we hadn’t yet had any hot temperatures at home. &nbsp;In fact, we had had a few flakes just days before we left.</p> <p>I knew it would be hot so I packed accordingly. &nbsp;I packed skorts, shorts, tees, and sleeveless tops. &nbsp;Last year I bought a few skorts for bike riding, including a wrap version from Patagonia. &nbsp;I also bought new sunscreen (Neutrogena spf 100). &nbsp;It wasn’t zinc as I prefer, but it was what I found at the last minute. &nbsp;I also packed a few warm items, for our last night, in an old mining town located at 6000 feet. &nbsp;We go through there to get to LV, and it’s always cold and windy. &nbsp;In our area, elevation is everything.</p> <p>The first day in LV was ferociously windy. &nbsp;It was still quite warm, so the wind felt good. &nbsp;I wore the Patagonia wrap skort. &nbsp;It turned out to be a real nuisance in the wind. &nbsp;I had my camera and binoculars, and trying to use them while holding down the wrap, was impossible. &nbsp;I started tucking the wrap hem under. &nbsp;It’s a nice skort, but not in the wind. I also took a Lands End skort with faux tie dye. &nbsp;No wrap, no issues. &nbsp;I wore it the next day, which was still windy, but not like the day before. &nbsp;Aside from the wrap, these skorts didn’t have adequate pockets. &nbsp;I had a small knapsack to hold various items such as my phone. &nbsp;I didn’t want to fry it in the car. &nbsp;Wearing a knapsack is very warm. &nbsp;At one point, my husband carried my phone for me. &nbsp;I need to figure out pockets and the tangle of straps,too. &nbsp;BTW, the sunscreen was great - no sunburn! &nbsp;And we were outdoors for probably ten hours each day. &nbsp;</p> <p></div><div><br /></div><div>1.
