Your new skirt and ponte pants sound great, Laura, and good bargains too!-)

Fashion-wise I'm in a bit of a rut myself. Getting a bit bored of my small Summer wardrobe, so quite happy that it's September and it will start to cool of here pretty soon. It will be great to re-discover my cold weather clothes.

I hope the doctors will be able to figure out what's wrong very soon. Hang in there! (you too Joy!)

Laura, I fully empathize with the havoc medical issues can reak on your body. Just coming off a phase of that myself, but am still sadly in the "feeling vile" stage. The fact that I regained some weight is definitely contributing.
The good: Cooler weather recently means fall clothes, which somehow raised my motivation to get in gear and to something about feeling this way. Am just loving fall clothes!
The bad: Realize I still have some major jacket shortages, specifically cropped cheaky versions and a jewel-tone one. Could probably use some collarless woven tops too. The list never ends!

I'll echo CS's comments on your health; I hope the docs get things figured out so you can start to feel better. And I totally hear ya on feeling fat and bloated. Seems to happen to me at least once a month. But I also think I have some sort of mild body dysmorphia because I -know- I am not fat but I look in the mirror and see something different.

Anywho, I'm definitely looking forward to fall, not that I can afford to buy anything! That doesn't always stop me, however as I am terribly impulsive. I really liked my outfit today (MOTG inspired). Just a silly hot pink v-neck from Target, a slightly A-line skirt I fabricated from an old pair of dark wash jeans (not masterfully done but good enough for gov't work), maroon tights and my brown Frye boots. Topped off with a nifty maroon/teal/gold scarf and a military style shirt/jacket. Fun! No pics though.

I cleared out my closet recently but need to do more culling. I have a huge pile to be donated already.

I always look forward to my days off (such as today) when I get to "dress up". Yes, a denim skirt is dressing up for me. I'm hoping to get a puppy this fall, which means by summer time I will be back in the show ring and will have a real reason to -actually- dress up. Yay! It's fun to try to look stylish, not clash with your dog and have sensible shoes. Of course stylish is a relative term - dog show folks are not generally known for their fashion sense!

Laura, I hope the health issue goes away soon. My fashion/dressing life is currently revolving around how long I can stand to wear a bra since they irritate the singles area. (The Good..I'm getting out some) If I can't stand it, I stay home. (The Bad) The weird part is that DH is liking having a "hippie wife" going braless. (Hopefully neutral)

Hi Laura
You did a great job with your closet clean out- and with your sewing. I found two tops recently (I'm on a quest for more woven tops), but ripped one old one and had to toss it. Our weather has cooled down to the point where I am getting to wear some different things and I am enjoying that.
Sorry you're not feeling well. I hope they can figure it out soon.

Of the good: picked up a Classiques Entier ruffle-detail pencil skirt for ~1/4 original price @ Nordstrom Rack, along with some tights and a cute turquoise belt for ten bucks. Continuing to wear stuff I’ve sewn for Self-Stitched September. Got a pair of ponte pants at Gap on clearance for cheap, but they’re two sizes too big and the waistband has to be cut down. Culled out three bags of clothes to go to the thrift store last weekend.

Of the bad: been feeling bloated and *fat*. Also again dealing with a recurring health issue which has the doctors stumped so far, which is always so entertaining. About to run out of stuff I’ve sewn that I can wear, so I’m going to have to repeat to finish out the month or get sewing madly.

Of the neutral: been wanting to dress up more - not sure if it’s mainlining old Mad Men episodes or just feeling itchy for fall to come, tied in with my desire for a real ‘grown-up’ non-telecommuting job. I know it’s grass-is-always-greener syndrome, but I miss structure and having a reason to meet new people (and buy new outfits).

How is everyone else’s fashion/dressing life going at the moment?
