Hmmm, I think I'd better try these at a store before ordering. My feet are regular width so I wonder if the wides would work with an insert. In a sandal one wouldn't have to be so concerned about the toe box, but I was thinking of low heels for dress. Thank you all for your responses. They were very helpful. Kristen, FS is a brand that also usually works well for me.

Perhaps the W and WW's are really wide? And the regulars run a little narrow. Weird.

Joy, I've worn them before because they carry narrow sizes. Some are more comfortable than others. I lived in a pair of Vaneli flat sandals last summer and duplicated them in another color because they were so comfortable. I also have a pair of black shooties that I bought last fall that I can wear, but they are a little snug in the toe box. I'm going to look into getting them stretched next fall when I start wearing them again. In all fairness, I bought them in narrow because I need it for my heels, but I also need a roomy toe box at the same time.

I am wondering the same thing, April. I wear regular-width, not wide...maybe that's the difference?

I do agree, Angie, that they are beautiful well-made shoes. That's why it kills me that they don't fit. They are on par with Franco Sartos in my estimation, and FS is my all-time favorite shoe designer.

I have also had the experience that the regular width runs narrow. Last time 6pm had a big Vaneli sale I ordered three pairs of shoes and had to send them all back for that reason.

Angie, is it your impression that the wide widths are particularly wide, and that's why they fit your client?

Wow. Kristen. I am about to say the exact opposite!

Vaneli is a very good brand - especially for wide feet. They come in W and WW and I have a client who only wears WW and half of her shoes are Vaneli. We have spent four years tracking down the right WW Vaneli shoes for her and she now has quite the collection. This client has exceptionally hard to fit feet. The hardest I have ever had to fit. Very wide, bad bunions and hammer toes. Vaneli shoes have also lasted really well. I am very impressed with the brand.

Van Eli's seduce me with their beauty, but then kill me with their fit. They are always, always too narrow for me. I don't have wide feet but that particular brand gives me problems.

But I keep trying them anyway because they are gorgeous shoes! I have managed to stop buying them at least.

Joy, I've had several pairs over the years and been very happy with them. I wear a 7 or 7.5 and I'd go with the 7.5 in this brand.

That's encouraging, San. Do you feel that they are true to size? If half of your shoes are 7.5 and half are 8's, which would you go with in this brand?

6pm.com has a variety of Vaneli shoes that have low heels and are not clunky for 60% and more off. I've never had this brand on my feet. Does anyone have any experience with Vaneli? I'm especially interested in quality, fit and comfort.
FYI, I noticed that several I clicked on are available in wide and some in narrow.
