Having recently been to Cuba I agree with Janet's suggestions. A lightweight wrap is helpful for am and night. Also lightweight long pants or maxi skirt for mosquito protection. It is a fun and fascinating country.
Safe travels!

Have a fabulous trip to Cuba! What an interesting country that looks like, very colorful too. Check out "Eat the World" show with cooking guru Emerill, there is one episode on Cuba which is wonderful, also check out Chanel's show in Cuba, the clothes are, well, to me, beyond words wonderful, and my favorite Chanel show ever. This will give you some inspiration on what to pack, as far as styles, colors. Think khaki, olive, orange, some great oxford brogues, and a big colorful bag~ Oh I love the hat in your pics~

I am now packing a sarong on all my trips longer than one night. It's a bathrobe, a beach cover-up, a light shawl, a skirt in a pinch (bring a safety pin), a dress over shorts or pants, even a bag if I get the knots right. I wrapped my unplanned mandolin purchase in it for its airplane ride home. I need one that matches my Ocean Park wardrobe now.

Hope you post photos.

MsMary turned me on to Lands End rash guards as tops. Even the long sleeved ones are comfortable in hot weather as they dry quickly and do not retain moisture. There are many colors and patterns.
Have a wonderful time.

I'm so happy you are getting a genuine vacation and going someplace sunny! That's fantastic!

I like the suggestions to look at Columbia or one of the other sports stores -- at least check them out, maybe even REI (online), where there might be some fabulous sales on summer gear. If you have a dress or skirt/ crops/ shorts that will dry well and feel good on, you're already ahead of the game. Great shoes and sandals will obviously be a must. Also (maybe?) check Everlane?

I got the Everlane dress below last summer and it was an easy workhorse. I don't know what their sizing is like, alas. I also got the purple dress a few years ago for a super hot trip to China; I now use it as a bathing suit cover up and it's great.

You look fantastic in shorts so I recommend at least one great pair of those!

I’d say Janet is spot-on in her recommendations about keeping it casual and easy to wear if you are traveling around in Cuba. I’ve been visiting there since the 80s and, unless you are just staying by a pool in a tourist resort, I’d go with her suggestions. A pair of lightweight pants, a handful of short sleeve tops, and a pair of good walking sandals were workhorses for me. If you are going into the mountains, I’d add a pair of lightweight hiking shoes, a long-sleeve shirt, and a light windcheater jacket. Like Janet, I found a skirt and top, or a T-shirt-style dress, to be useful in the city—shorts seemed to be worn there mainly by the tourists and very young girls.

Cuba is a fascinating country and Havana is a photographer’s delight. Enjoy your visit!

Very exciting! I can usually find laundry places on a trip and pay a local place to do mine. Hotels have options but they are more expensive. And I wash smalls in the basin of the room.

Uniqlo, Columbia, Kathmandu, are places I would look at. Three shoe options, two long sleeve options, nothing that needs careful washing or ironing.

Have a fab time!

Hooray!! Sounds amazing!

I love actual travel clothes for trips like this. Columbia is great and they have an amazing store right downtown in Seattle. They say "I am a traveler and I know how to pack," which I think is more important in that context than being super fashionable.

Speaking from experience, in Cuba I'd keep it casual and easy to wear! Lightweight cropped pants or shorts, tees, and crossover athleisure type stuff really work well. A casual jersey or tee-shirt dress or two, or a skirt in an easy non-wrinkle fabric will take you through a day of walking around and to dinner in the evening easily. A couple pairs of comfortable shoes that will take you over cobblestones and all kinds of roads and terrain.

I recommend a hat with a floppy brim so that when you turn your camera sideways for vertical shots, the camera is not bumping your hat back on your head. :-)

Check out the Lowepro Slingshot for a good sling type camera bag. I also got a Mind Shift rotation type bag which I'm really liking. Their bags are really nice -- they're a division of Think Tank, so I trust them.

I'm so excited for you! Have a wonderful time! You will enjoy it. Don't miss dinner at La Guarida, and take your camera when you go there -- the building is way cool.

I really like Uniqlo's Air-ism tees. I have a couple of these and they're great for hot and/or humid conditions. They also wash really well and dry almost immediately, so great for holiday packing! (doubt they have the one in the find, but it should lead you to something similar)

I second the idea of multiple swimsuits

Nordstrom’s has several solid and floral sundresses that I think would work for your trip. I many of the dark floral ones by City Chic and this one https://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s.....038;top=24

Old Navy also has several, as well as sleeveless jumpsuits.

For the Everglades exploration, and maybe the mountain hike as well, a button-front sleeved shirt can help against mosquitos. Get either natural fabric like linen or cotton or tech fabric made to wick moisture.

Enjoy your trip!

My preference would be practical clothing rather than dressy.

I think you have already mentioned all what you need. I suggest to take more than one swimsuit (personally I hate the feeling of wet fabric on my skin). Then flipflops, suncream-sunglasses-hat (obvious) and I strongly recommend lip-balm and eye drops. For dinners at the resort (I imagine you will be in a resort) a pretty dress and jewel sandals (or something analogue). For the mountains part, I think you know better than me - I remember that you use to hike. Comfortable walking shoes - I know I am saying a lot of obvious things, but this is what comes to my mind thinking of my past numerous packing mistakes. This sounds like a wonderful vacation !

YAY. You need a holiday.

Begin by hauling out your warmer weather stash and assessing what fits and what you like. Put those items aside and build from there. Pack from the footwear up.

Look at the extended forecasts in those places as a weather guide.

You must try on your outfits before you pack them to make sure you like them.

There has been almost zero resort this year, right? New retail strategy maybe.

So, I'm going a real honest-to-God vacation, as in long plane flight, passport needed, different climate, etc.
I'm going to Cuba in early January for a week, with a few days in Miami and South Florida afterwards. I leave January 5th, so yeah no time left.
The Cuba trip is an organized tour. It a tour with my singles activity group, but it'll be about 20 people, and only two guys. :/
I'm bringing my camera gear of course. And I still quite haven't decided what bag for that. I visited a local camera store and they recommended a sling style.
But the big thing is the clothes and shoes. I haven't tried on all my summer gear. I pretty sure a good chunk of it doesn't fit (pun intended?). I've been looking at resort collections, but it's still too early it seems. I'm hoping right after Christmas there will be some stuff.
I need shorts, shirts (fancy t-shirts?), a sun dress of some sort. Some gear as we're going in the mountains one day and I want to see the Everglades back in Florida. Given it seems we're traveling each day, I can't plan on laundry at all.
I have a light rain jacket that should be good. Also have a swimsuit. A sunhat, though I really want the blue version of this hat.
some other stuff I'm considering
Any suggestions and resources appreciated
