thanks for the photos. is it just me, or do this outfits feel, well, kind of conservative? like you look at them and think, i'm not sure why these were considered so cutting edge....
but as i write that, i realize that's exactly why they were/are so cutting edge, becuase they moved fashion along to the point that they became mainstream.....

So interesting. I love the dresses with a mix of similar prints. The shape of the bags in 33 remind me of some of the earliest Coach bags.

Great photos and “trip down memory lane.” The every day dresses remind me so much of the dresses my mom sewed for me when I was around jr. high age. Thanks for sharing these.

Some of the closely patterned fabrics in #36 look so similar to what Rudi Gernreich was doing. I guess the situation is always the same - designers get creative with what's offered in the wholesale or retail fabric marketplace.

Lovely photographs - thank you for posting! Feels like I sorta went with you . Somewhere in the 70th ( in my childhood ) I had a dress similar to #9 - it was my favorite - drop waist, grey with a row of red cute buttons and a belt on hips made in Germany.

I was in London in late September and visited the Victoria and Albert Museum. Loved it! I saw the ongoing Mary Quant exhibit on a muggy Sunday morning with a lot of women who had either worn Mary Quant back in the day, had friends who did, or tried to mimic the styles because they could not get their hands on the real thing.

I took many pictures, both for myself because I loved the clothes, and for my mom, who has Parkinson's and is now a bit too stiff to handle the trip herself. The rooms were fairly dark and crowded, I did not use flash, and the dresses were in glass cases which leads to unintended reflections. In Picture 30, I can see a shadow of myself taking the picture. But I think captured pretty well. My favorites are 6, 15, and 22. Enjoy!
