For a trip to the farm with your children, you look PERFECT. Go, enjoy yourself and the kiddos, and bring lots of sunscreen and maybe a floppy hat

I didn't plan very far ahead (as in, I decided to do this about an hour ahead of time) and I only own 3 pair of jeans, so no chopping!

I have the L&L, an old pair of skinny skinnies, and a pair of skinnies that are a bit more like straights but not straight enough to fold. In the end I went with the fold in my second pic. I'm glad too because we were walking through cow pies! Thanks for the advice guys!
Gotta do what you gotta do, right? I may have tried other pants (besides jeans) rolled - IF I had any other slimmer bottom pants that is. Otherwise I'd do what you need to do to keep clean. lol

Do you have a pair of jeans you could sacrifice and cut off into capris/shorts? That is what I would do, especially if I had a pair I was kind of meh on.
I do think they look a little thick. I live in farm country and have relevant experience so I'm wondering if you have them a little high anyway? I think you could get away with that second pic where it's down on your calf. It'll fix the proportions and that's plenty high enough to keep the muck off.

ah yes - I tried that at first. These jeans are a bit flared, so when I tried folding them just to that length they looked weird. I could try re-folding with a much wider/taller hem and see how that looks...
I don't think I like the white under-layer as well.
You look super cute:) I can see the layer under the top and I think it works. My only comment is that the roll looks very "thick". I know you are rushing to get ready to leave, but how about 'folding' the jeans up (as opposed to rolling) so that you end up with them being cropped rather than 'shorts'. I will see if I can find a picture and pop back in a minute.

I'm taking the kids to the agricultural college's "farm days" this morning. It's very warm out. I have zero shorts to wear and don't relish the idea of my hems dragging across the farm.

Truth here - does this look desperate and ridiculous? I know you wouldn't use those words - LOL - You are all too kind. But is it ok or should I just wear them as usual? These are my Gap Long & Lean jeans rolled up to the knees. We're leaving in about an hour (8:30am Eastern Time).

Also, I know the shirt is too short. I have a dark layer underneath that comes down to about the right length but it's hard to see in the pic. I honestly don't have a lot of options where this is concerned. Maybe I should layer something lighter underneath to make it seem longer?
