Re. the length of the J. Crew one: 27 inches hits well below my knee (about two inches below) and I'm 5'11" so it might be worth a shot :)!

Sarah, I don't have anymore suggestions, but I know the perfect one will appear for you. It is still early! You will totally rock this style of skirt.

Wow, thank you all for your suggestions!
It sounds like UO might be great for some, but from your comments I'm thinking I need to pass.
I'd wear this skirt into the ground as it wouldn't be a fringe trend for me.
My concern is that the JCrew and Boden versions aren't quite long enough. The ShapeFX one looks most accurate but I've never ordered from them either.
Hm.

I bought this one at ASOS last year for about $60 I think. I really like it and it is well made and fits nicely but have had a lot of trouble figuring out when and where to wear it.

I just looked at the reviews on that skirt and someone mentioned pilling but it not being a big deal. That would be a very big red flag for me. I think you will find one in a better fabric. UO has very cute styles in mostly not great fabric.
I have a swing dress that is fun but wearing out after a season from UO.

Also there reviews are mainly from a very young demographic, something to consider.

I am going to differ from the others and recommend UO. I like UO because I can get trends ahead of time (they had skinny jeans very early on and I got a cape there last year) for not a lot of money. However, their stuff is very casual. It is not office wear. If you are looking for a weekend skirt, I'd go for it. If this is for work, look elsewhere (unless you work in a very casual environment).

The fact that the skirt has been around for a while with lots of decent reviews means people must be happy with it.

I've been loyal to UO since the 80s when I was in my 20s shopping at their NYC store. I walked away from them for some time when they became too young and ironic but I have been enjoying some of their things lately like their inexpensive colored denim and great slouchy tees (perfect for lounging).

I don't think you'd be happy with the fabric quality of the UO skirt, to be honest. Judging by what I know of their usual products, that's going to be more sweatshirt-y and less ponte-y.

I'm not sure whether the lengths (27") would get the job done on you, but have you seen these?

I like the skirt but have not had the best experience with the Silence and Noize range (two items which really stretched when washed). I love this skirt and all of the colours, in fact I would own it if the split was practical for my lifestyle

I would really like to try a below the knee pencil skirt, and there aren't many in my price range.
I noticed this one at UO
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....CH+RESULTS
but I've never had any experience with them.
Has anyone ordered there before? Is it worth my while? Have you seen any other longer pencil skirts under $800?
