I have shopped at Urban Outfitters since they had a store in NYC in the 80s! I purchased a cute tie-dye poncho there in November, and a few basic slouchy t's. I'm very happy with them, but there were some things in the store I would never touch. Too young for me but I do like their basics. My poncho is great loungewear.

I actually think their sizing is more towards Jrs. or designer sizing. I wear a size S in a lot of brands but with them it's a Medium. Just in my experience. As a frame of reference, I weigh around 118. When I was younger and weighed 105-110, I wore an S at Urban Outfitters. I am 5'4".

I agree that the quality depends on which label it is. I have some stuff from there that is very well-made and durable, and some stuff that is much flimsier and cheap-looking. I find the sizing to be variable too. Some things are true to size, some are smallish, and once in a while something is enormous. I guess this isn't much help! On their website, they do have very detailed comments sections for each garment, so you can double-check that way, if something has comments about it.

I shop there with my daughter. Their quality depends on the label. They do seem to carry a few better quality items (I have gotten Frye boots from them), but most seem typical 'junior' quality - lasting a season or so before looking tired.

When I actually try on things, I find they have a more youthful cut - slimmer hips, thighs, arms.

I just came home recently with pairs of their BDG (mid-quality) high-rise cigarette jeans to try, but haven't actually worn them yet.

My 21-y.o. daughter loves them - FWIW, but doesn't mind looking a bit wrinkly or faded. . .

I order from there frequently but I'm not sure how to answer. They carry a wide variety of brands so it's impossible to make a sweeping generalization about quality or fit.

I will say that I have never found anything there to run small or closer to juniors sizing. I always take my regular size and have only had to size up once--and as I said, I shop there a lot. By contrast, I have found myself sizing down a lot more, though 90% of the time I just get my regular size.

Quality is completely unpredictable. If you're used to luxurious quality, then you probably won't like it.

I have only ordered from them for my son, and their young men's clothing seems to run true to size. I have been please with the quality in relation to the price. And I had easy experiences with returns and exchanges.

Funny story: A few years ago (pre-YLF, pre- me trying to look fab), I ordered a ton of stuff from them (jackets, shirts) for my son for Christmas in a couple of different orders. On the second order, my credit card didn't go through. I called American Express and they said something about how the purchase triggered their fraud alert system. I asked, "Do you mean that your computer found it odd that a little old lady from Pasadena would be shopping at a hip store like Urban Outfitters?" and the customer service agent said, "Well, uh, yes." LOL

I have never ordered from UO but I'm considering a few items there--does anyone order there regularly? Do you have good things to say about their quality? Is it accurate to say that their items tend to run more on juniors' sizing than on misses'? Thanks for your help.
