At 27.5" the inseam on those Ruti jeans seems rather short for Northeast winter weather. I'm always reluctant to buy any jeans in the winter that have too much ankle exposure, even with a higher shaft boot.&nbsp; </p> <p>I am sure you'll find a good pair!</p> <p></p> <p>I added my barrel jeans in finds below. The black Agolde low curve I wear a lot these days; the Me+Em brown stripe I like but they are considerably wider and are definitely a "look." And low rise jeans are NOT to be confused with low slung jeans. (I'll write a post about that next year). And even if you preferred wearing these not on trend items, that's good too. ANYTHING goes these days when you wear it with intention, ease, confidence and in a pulled together way.&nbsp;</p> <p>Soooooo rest assured, and try the barrels! They are not going to date. Since I’ve been on their site, other pants from them keep popping up in my social media feeds, and I really like everything I see. The US price tag is a little high, $200, which I’m not sure I want to spend for a trendy item. But then I was wearing barrel jeans in the 90s and I loved them so much I wore them whether they were in style or not!</p> <p>Lisa, I love Paige denim. I still have a pair from about 10 years ago and I doubt I’ll ever get rid of them. They are very soft, nice and long, and a classic slim leg style. They have gotten a lot of wear but never seem to show it.</p> <p>UPDATE: The waist in the BR straight legs is too tight so they are going back. I ordered and just received the Wit and Wisdom Ab Solution wide legs in the very light blue wash and I'm pretty sure I’m keeping them. They can be pricey but I've had great success with Paige denim. Often the denim is very soft, making them comfortable to wear, even the wide leg styles. I just dove into a closet edit today, and tried on all my jeans. I had some in the holding zone as well. I kept one pair of slim straights that read more “skinny” and my old moto jeans from Peruvian Connection that also have a slimmer silhouette. Other than those, the rest of what I am keeping are flares and bootcuts, wide-legs, slim boyfriends, and baggy boyfriends. I have two pairs of so-called boyfriend jeans that actually look more like straight-legs on me, and I like those too. I let go of my cropped flares — I’m just not feeling them anymore. </p> <p>I don’t really have barrel jeans but I do have that silhouette in other pants. I think I’d like them in jeans if the fabric is not too heavy or stiff.
