Thanks for that thought, Marianne -- when the boots arrived, the buckles were on the middle setting. Moving them one more notch would change them by about a half inch at most, but the gap between boot and calf was much larger than that.

It's that familiar "I'm standing in a hole" sensation that is so discouraging to me with boots.

I may have to try Duo, but haven't heard much about their quality and comfort. Anyone know how these rate for Duo boots?

That's too bad, April - I should have mentioned on the original thread that they were on a larger side, size-wise. I guess it wouldn't have helped the calf issue. Can you adjust the buckle at all or is it hopeless?

Not to worry, April. I guess a 37 would have fit better but I'm not liking the 3 inches to wide on the calf part. Onto something else.

What's your calf circumference?

The European sizing is a quandary. I cannot generally wear an American 6.5 in comfort, so I always buy a 7, and it's a tiny bit large. But when the sizing chart says that a 37 is the equivalent of an American 6, I feel there's no way that could fit me.

Why oh why do European sizes not include half-sizes? A full size jump is a pretty big leap.

Also, since 6PM does not offer the free two-way shipping that most shoe sites provide, sending those boots back cost me nearly $18. Ouch. Boots are large and heavy -- keep in mind when ordering from sites that make you pay it yourself...

Aww, that sucks April. Hopefully a smaller size would work for you. Three inches is a lot of slack in the calf, though!

Aw shucks! I hope sizing down, if an option, will work for you. Those are some nice boots

What a shame April. I was thinking the same thing as Laura: can you size down?

Oh no! I am between 6.5 and 7, and I always order a Euro 37. Are you sure you shouldn't size down?

Boo hoo. The PG boots arrived today, and they are too big in every way. This often happens to me with European sizing since I am sort of between a 6.5 and a 7 in American shoes, so the 38 that Europeans say will fit a size 7 is actually more like a 7.5 and is just too big.

The calf is also about 3 inches too large in circumference. I'd consider having it altered if the foot portion wasn't also too big.
