They don't look too simple at all Tam. I love both pairs (I like clean, sleek lines for boots;-)
I have a slight preference for the ones at Amazon (the heel detail).
Both would be very versatile, and if they're as comfortable as my old Campers, you'll never regret your purchase.

By the way: I can also wear my Campers with skirts and zip them up (with some effort) over skinnies.

Go for it!! (I wouldn't even think of this as a splurge - although you definitely deserve one!! - comfortable boots like this will last you for years, it's a wise investment;-)

Maya you are indeed up late. Must have been a big Persian NYE celebration - good stuff!!!

You're right that endless don't deliver internationally, but I can always use a shipping service that lets me deliver to a US address then they post it out. Luckily for sites that offer free US shipping this makes the cost of the service + shippinh comparable to the $40 per pair zappos charges anyway (grrr). Shame that revolveclothing doesn't stock them because they have free international shipping. The lengths that we OS buyers have to go to!

I'm glad you gave these the thumbs up. There's actually 2 types of camper spirals, these "Spiral helix" ones, and plain ole "Spiral" ones. Just to complicate things!

Here's what the plain spirals look like:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000M.....nkCode=asn

These are the more traditional ones I think. The dude in the store said the Helix ones are a newer model based on the normal spirals, and made slimmer in the foot and all up the leg, and more of a pointy toe. I actually prefer the toe shape of the old Spirals I think, but they gaped a bit too much at my ankle. Annoyingly I could only try on a 40 in the spirals and they fit fine (but gaped), but they only had a 41 in the spiral helix, which also fit fine and didn't gape. So now I don't know if a 40/41 spiral helix would be best. I think to be safe I'd stick with the size 41's as I was wearing just very thin socklets that the store gives you.

Can I justify this splurge as a reward for surviving my first internship rotation? (assuming I make it through this week!) I've started with the most horrible one of all, so if I can survive this I should be able to survive anything!!!

Oh goodness, I can't believe I'm awake when the Australian ladies are on. I really need to get back to a normal sleeping habit...

Anyway, I think they are nice boots and not too simple at all. I think it's possible to have boots that fit over jeans and bare legs at the same time. My LC's have some stretch at the top so I can wear them both ways.

Of course a picture would be most helpful, but barring that possibility, I think up to 1/4" gap is okay, or maybe 1/2". I can't remember what the official Angie rule is but I'm going to err on the side of caution and say 1/4". Since that means nothing to you, it's .635cm.

Does Endless ship abroad?

Well you are all probably bored to death of hearing my boots woes, but I have some progress to report today!

I trekked up to Sydney and scoured every single shop there. I didn't find anything meeting my slouchy light brown boots requirements - there were a lot that were too short, too dark brown, or just looked too cheap. Made me scared this is going to become mission impossible!

On the black boot front, I tried these camper spirals on:

https://shopping.zappos.com/n/...../c/72.html

I should have taken pics, but they did up over bare legs without *too* much of a gape, and I could still zip them up over my jeans. Am I kidding myself that they will work for both?

I'm actually thinking of ordering them online - can you believe they are selling for AU$430 (US$296) in the camper shop here!!! Even including international shipping I'm sure I can get them cheaper online. They are actually on sale for $137 at endless.com.

Interestingly zappos says the shaft height is 14 1/2" whereas endless says its 15 1/4" - that's a bit confusing!!

I like the simplicity of the style, but do you think they are *too* simple? Or should I just go for it?
