You look great in saturated colors, this is a very nice mix and match capsule. My favorite is 5, not just because it has your kitty in it but that blue drapey and structured top is ultra flattering On you, and I love the fit of your navy slacks. Great finds!

Firecracker, you could totally rock the sweater with the EF harems! Re. the Vince pants and the FP sweater, I got a double order that showed up a week later that I'm taking back to the Rack this weekend. Somehow I must have clicked Buy twice, although why they shipped separately is beyond me. I think they're both still available online, otherwise, let me know and I can hook you up since you're local

All of these outfits are fantastic on you! Thanks for showing all the finds in action. I really like your modern eclectic style. Those Vince trousers are great on you--I prefer how they look on you to the model's fit. Perfect length! Don't you love the EF harem pants, too? I'm drooling over that last outfit and thinking I may need that sweater; I don't have the Vince pants, but I could wear it with my EF harems, right?

I like all of these, especially the olive jacket with the magenta top, and the zipper jacket. Is that Zara? I saw it on their website, but I have zero experience with them and so haven't ordered anything from them. I ordered the EF scoop neck sweater in white and blue and got the white one yesterday (why send them separately?).

Joy, so glad I can help others the way dabblers have helped me!

Angie, as always, your thoughts are much appreciated. Did you see Minnie waving in #5? I finally got my closet reorganized by color Thursday. It looked like a hurricane had gone through! ;-)

Hi Vix, I'm only a newb, almost 3 months in, but in with both feet and hands! Great feedback and I could see where the pics are confusing. Horrible time trying to get darks to show up remotely true to color, which is why I prevailed upon DH to stop what he was doing and photograph me outside. The pants in #3 are actually a dark wash denim/synthetic combo, which didn't register at all. The harem outfit comment made me laugh! That's why I deconstructed the outfit a bit. I had been sitting (not literally) on that sweater, trying to figure out what to do to amp it up into something other than jeans and sweater boringness, so I threw on the harems. Let's face it, harems jump the interest factor up ten fold on almost anything! Then, the outfit needed a topper IMO, so grabbed the Zara jacket. It's definitely a Fall/Winter look, but you can't start too early, right? The column of color thing is a very new concept to me, and something that I'm really enjoying creating now that I understand how. Haven't quite figured out how to do it with light colors on me, but striving towards pushing my boundaries is fun!

Hi Dashielle --

I've been scarce around here the last several months and don't think I've seen much of your style -- so happy you're sharing!

My favorites --

#4 -- I really really love this on you, even if it took me a while to figure out what was going on since I went straight to the photos. ["Is that a...knit harem jumpsuit?"] Duh me. But it *looks* like one long line with the colorblocking doing such flattering things I hope I'm given partial credit. Love the shoes with it, too.

#5 -- Also love the mixed print and textures of the blue blouse here; so pretty on you, and again as I'm naturally biased towards tonal combos I like the whole look.

#3 -- OTOH I'll contradict the above and say I also like the high-contrast white/black here (as well as the blue/black minus the jacket). I think I'm a sucker for what those proportions are doing for you -- such a hard thing to get right as it changes from pairing to pairing.

Hope to see more from you this summer!

Ann, you are rocking it left, right and centre. I love it all - AND how you're toying with higher neck pieces out of your comfort zone. YES. The black bra lowers the neckline on the gauzy knit. Clever. xo.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing saturated brights, especially if those are the shades that suite you You can always get your variation through silhouette, fabric, or cut.

Cciele, good point about low contrast. I just went back to look at the model and hadn't seen the shot of her wearing the lace top underneath. Hmm, no lace here, but it could be interesting layered with the right piece... Re. Harems, I'm really tired of the look and feel of skinnies on me, so these couldn't have come at a better time!

Aida, thanks for the kind words! I would love to pull off even more variety, like Angie's last outfit, but constantly find myself drawn to really saturated colors when not in black! We'll see though. Yes, I love the jeans. I wonder if anyone else struggles with knee bags as much as me though? All my skinnies do it and I dislike what it does to the lines! I agree with you on the cami, not sure I'm ready for visible bra looks, lol!

Suz, the Finds are my jam...kinda obsessed! And thanks for the complements, my closet is literally black and blue, with a bit of magenta, which is why I'm so tickled with the yellow bag. Black outfit, bag and shoes is toooo much, even in Seattle!

Looks like you've built a great mix-and-match capsule right there, with those fun! I really like the EF and Vince harem pants on you -- you pull those off with panache :)
For the Free People top, I'm leaning toward a cami like the model is wearing, to keep it low contrast. But if you want to have fun with a contrasting bra, go for it! :)

Great mix of looks Dashielle! Nice to see some of those fabulous finds in action, thanks for sharing. Aren't those white jeans great? I got a pair too! The EF sweaters look super, such great saturated colors (and both lovely for you). Outfit #4 is stunning, really gorgeous. LOVE the blocked cashmere sweater, and just had to order the red colorway to try for myself. Fun finds in #4, the architecture of the Tahari top is awesome (and shows up in a much better way in your outfit than their stock photo!) and the openweave sweater does look like a fun summer item to play with. I think a black cami or tank would be just fine underneath

Continued from recent posts, I have actual outfits from all the below finds.
#1 is the turquoise EF linen sweater with the Loft jeans, KS satchel (high five to Rae) and an old army green shirt/topper. Shoes are ~2008 Coach platform gladiators.
#2 is the magenta EF asymmetrical hem linen sweater with same jeans and an old H&M military anorak. Sandals are 2009 Kenneth Cole metallic gladiators with interesting fish scale texture.
#3 is the sky blue EF sweater with some old Billie Blues trouser jeans from Nordies circa 2008 and my kitten heel, blue suede Manolo loafer pumps. The white jacket is an ancient H&M item.
#4 is a Nordstrom brand short sleeve cashmere sweater topped with the Zara zipper jacket, worn over the EF harems and my trusty old Cole Haan with Nike Air technology. These sandals are so cushiony, I'm thinking about getting the pair below as a less statementy version. The sweater is a grey, black and cream geometric print that benefits from some drapey framing (IMO), otherwise it can be pretty pedestrian.
#5 is recognizable to many...the blue Vince harem trousers (love, love, love...high five to 50% of you!). They're cropped (see model for comparison), which means they're ankle length on me! Found this very cute sleeveless satin Tahari top (on left) with interesting folds and patterns in shades of blue. Then there's this Free People high/low sweater I ordered from the Rack on the right. I wasn't sure, so it has been sitting for a week because the color is oatmeal, with a little green and other muted colors; not a colorway I ever normally choose, nor my ideal neckline. It is sheer, and I will probably wear a cami underneath out, despite DH's protestation that the black bra gives it interest! (Does the black bra visually lower the neckline? LOL) Am keeping because it expands my comfort zone, is comfy and I think JFE. Those with keen eyes will see two of my little feline helpers in the window offering suggestions
Thanks ahead of time for your suggestions and thoughts. I always appreciate other points of view as I'm learning from you all (and Angie, of course).
