Thanks! I think you are right about the Van Elis. I'll have to get on the DSW website. You were smart to get both colors. Us gals with fussy feet need to duplicate when we find something that works!

Debora--
The footbed in the Kelly & Katies is average, not narrow. If you really need a narrow footbed, the Van Elis are a better bet--in my experience, they run narrow, and they also have true narrow sizes. DSW has some Van Eli boots (you can now check their website!), and I bet Nordstrom's Rack does too, if the price is bothering you.

BTW, I got both colors--brown and black--covered for all fashion situations!

Yay! Happy feet! I’m thrilled for you, garmenta.

Suede is not ideal in bad weather though - unless it’s waterproof suede. Enjoy them on dry days!

Those are beautiful boots, Garmenta! How lucky to find a pair that fits your calves! Do you think they would work for a narrow foot? I know you mentioned the heel slippage. I am considering these (they come in narrow) but am balking a little at the price: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....007688?P=3

What color did you get?

Here's the update after a day of constant wear, for anyone who's interested. . .

They're 8-hour boots. And if they can be comfortable all day on my tortured feet, which sometimes rebel at my slippers, they should be really good for people without foot problems.

I found that they were a tad big in the heel, but I put in gel heel inserts, and that mitigates the slipping. My feet feel happy, too! Since they're suede, I'm going to give them a good squirt of waterproofing spray before it snows.

If you're looking for a more casual boot with an equestrian feel that will fit a narrow calf and is comfy to wear, this one may be for you. And they still have them at DSW!
