You took the words out of my mouth. Love the knit military jacket idea for regular attire – but not for interviews. Too casual I think. Sorry (sad face). MUCH prefer the second jacket you posted. That’s woven right? Very versatile too.

The INC Ponte pants are great! I had them on a client today. I’m going the stretch-rayon-cigarette-pants route instead of Ponte just because they look smarter. Have to stay true to my dressy style :0)

You’ve got last year’s EM slouch boots so I guess with a few more tops and new coat – you are in business.

There is very little that is too casual for interviews in my field. Scroll down and there is one example of an interview outfit, and on the second page there is another. These were put together by my career services office. They are mainly aimed at fashion students but it's not really any different in my field.

http://parsonscareerservices.blogspot.com/

My knit jacket from the YLF convention doesn't wrinkle or anything, and has lots of structure. I guess that's expecting a lot from a cheap Forever 21 version though.

April, the deep v neckline is actually very good for busty figures. I had to give up a jacket I really liked because it came up too high and would no longer button. It might be too *wide* though. But I would have to try it on to know for sure.

I like your updates list, it is quite similar to my current one.

I love the first F21 jacket, but I think it would be too casual for interviews. I will be stalking those INC ponte pants, so I will let you know as soon as they go on sale

Maya -- have you tried on the military jacket? I'm wondering if the knit combined with the deep vee would cause it to gap open on a bustier figure?

Here is one from Tulle that has the military-style buttons, but they're black. It's a woven cotton/rayon and the vee is not quite as deep, so it would provide a little more structure. http://www.tulle4us.com/Tulle/.....ats/A7232/

I really like that knit military jacket but I think a woven one would be better. I don't know about you but I find that my knits look all wrinkly and messy after a bit and that's certainly not how you want to look in an interview situation. Good list otherwise!

I also like the military jacket, but it does lack a certain crispness of a woven one. I'm personally not a fan of the ruched sleeve jacket mainly because it loses versatility in that you're essentially forced to have your sleeves rolled up all the time...but that could just be me. For interviews I think it's more suitable than the military one. They're both super cute!

I feel your pain over premium denim, but in my personal experience unless you NEED a pair of jeans ASAP it's always worth it to wait. You get more bang for your buck with quality denim in terms of cost per wear, since they not only look better but last so much longer.

Your list has a couple things from mine. XD We should go shopping! Too bad we're a) not in the same area b) both broke and c) don't know each other. :p Anyway, best of luck to you! ^_^

I like the military jacket, but I think the second one will be more versatile for interviews.
Old Navy has sweaters on sale right now, and I just got a boyfriend cardi that I love:
http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....=676526032
Mine had it marked down by 30%, plus I had a coupon. I paid about $17 for it. I got the purple color that seems to be gone online, but they do have petites online.
I have a plaid tunic on my wishlist, too.

Sorry for my serial posting today!

Based on the responses I got from my last post, I have decided on how to prioritize my wish list. I was thinking primarily of season and potential interviews.

-A funky fall jacket for interviews. I don't have one and have a hard time finding one that isn't boring and modern classic. I was thinking of this one. Is a knit jacket not going to be sharp enough though? I like the idea of military details and the deep v is good for me and will let my bottom layer show through.

http://www.forever21.com/produ.....038;Page=1

There is also this one, which has 3/4 ruched sleeves

http://www.forever21.com/produ.....8;Page=all

I also have to check out H&M but in my experience their jackets are either very classic or too casual. But if anyone has been there and seen something suitable, let me know.

-Ponte knit straight leg pants. I love the INC ones Tanya posted. They will be so, so useful and versatile. I haven't tried them yet so I can't say for sure but I could definitely see myself duplicating them.

-Woven skinny pants. Been wanting a pair for ages. I had my microchecks hemmed for flats, which I kind of regret now. Skinny pants will give me an option for low heels, and also for my...

-...booties. Have my eye on a pair from Clarks.

-Straight leg jeans, also for heels. I have decided to be a good girl and hold off on premium denim. I might just get those inexpensive DKNY skinnies for now. When I last tried DKNY jeans they bagged out a lot, but I have gained weight since then so I should be able to wear the smallest size now.

-Loafers and oxfords. I may end up forgoing the loafers because by the time November comes around, it will be too cold for them. I think oxfords can still be worn later in the season though. We'll see. They are both lower down on my priority list.

-Sweater dress, if I can actually find one. If not I think I may just give in and get another non-sweater winter dress, like Tanya's Muse dress.

-Plaid flannel tunic. Have one on my wish list that I absolutely adore. Will be very warm and cozy and I need more options for leggings anyway.

-Boyfriend cardigan, long enough for leggings.

-Legwarmers. Mine are really beat up.

Of course I still can't afford all of this at once (I can barely afford one thing on this list), so my main priority is the jacket since I have nothing else that is suitable right now. Ponte pants come next, followed by booties. The rest I can hold off on and add gradually as the season progresses. I am purposely holding off on the jeans because perhaps soon I will be able to afford the premium ones I had in mind.

I know it sounds odd that I have 3 different straight leg options on my list, but I have bought exactly one pair of bottoms in probably about 6 months, or maybe more, and straight legs are the most flattering and versatile option for me.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?
