The story goes like this:

Earlier this S/S I saw that Eileen Fisher came out with some items in what is called "puckered linen," which intrigued me because of possible crease-camoflage and its looking like a micro-check of navy + black. I am doing some navy/black color-blocking with my outfits but I have always especially loved black + navy actually mixed, in checks, stripes and prints. But did not take the plunge.

As I was working on my somber occasion capsule, neutral toppers for warmer weather were not working out well as most
were too warm, except for white ones. (I keep holding on to my navy-black tweed AT jacket ,but it’s a tricky style for many pants.)

I saw this BB Dakota blazer when looking for something lighter
weight that might go navy, black or both, and almost did not order because it looks cobalt on the site. Also it would not be super-durable as to fabrication. There were also more nice black +blue jackets--Angie featured one today--but either not right style or something else, as a warm weight would be more limiting

I was not sure it was the same item when it arrived, as indoors it looks mostly dark, but in daylight the brighter blues stand out more,
but not too much, as the plaid is very evident with characteristic many gradations of blues to black. The fit and silhouette worked so well with many bottoms and tops that I thought it would be useful as an
outfit completer though clearly not an “investment” piece. In addition dark tops and nice tonal looks, it can go with more cheery whites and cool pinks and orchids, for summer, and some deeper berry tones..

(Sorry no FINDS as even with Google Chrome my FINDS have stopped working even thought I've been doing it the same way as always.)

In a local dept store I saw the EF puckered linen items IRL. I admit
to FOMO re: EF sizes selling out so decided to get the pants, which are fully comfy for home in summer, but also out, or for travel, whenever that occurs.

So basically I was pondering these in try-ons at home, as unrelated items, but with many of the same other items, and it took me about a week before I had the bright idea to see if the blazer and pants went together. Which, if it’s not my pandemic brain, I think they do..

It is hard to show in photo as lot of variations depending on the light.
