32DDD chest and at 5'3" often chose petite sizing for tops. I own two Uniqlo puffer coats in size Medium (one short one long). They fit close to the body (on me) but I love that I can layer them below other coats (the shorter puffer below my field jackets for instance and the longer puffer underneath a uniqlo rain coat)

Janet, no idea how the vests are cut but I am a 6/8 on top with broad shoulders and 30F bust and a 10 on the bottom (wide but not deep) if that makes sense. I bought the hooded short jacket and the long puffer in a Medium. The long puffer is a smidge tight on the hips but an L is too roomy.

Can you use the online measurement chart and compare to your current jackets? I am between an XS and a S in everything (small bust, broad shoulders), and opted for a S when I bought a Uniqlo puffer because the shoulders would've been too narrow on the smaller size, too snug for layering. I always have to pay careful attention to garment measurements with Uniqlo; sometimes S is ginormous, other times the XS is itty-bitty (and sizing for collaborations can be very different from their usual sizing).

Yeah, I find the lightweight, thin aspect of it very appealing. I have a silver/grey puffer vest, but it is not a good layer underneath anything else — it’s too bulky. Great for walks in the woods though!

FWIW- I found the Uniqlo puffer coats and jackets to run on the roomy end of TTS, while the vests were both a more slender cut and not a huge uptick between my smaller and larger size. I could zip my usual size in the vests, but it felt too tight over sweaters and under layers. . Upsizing worked because these pieces aren't bulky and seem designed to be a closer fit.. Hard to say what will be best to try first, with the combo of a narrow back and a chest. While the vest is cut fairly straight, I just checked and it is a bit wider from the under arm point across the chest. Perhaps that makes your usual size work? I am hooked; it's versatile and warm without the "Goodyear" quality of the old school vests. Good luck with it. I like the idea of a white vest, too.

Thanks, all! Hmm, I’m still not sure. Carla, you and I are the same height, but I’m narrower in the shoulder and wider in the hip, with a 32G chest, so narrow across the back. I’m usually an 8 in tops these days, but more of a 10 in anything that fits over the hips. This does result in some difficulty in jackets if they are cut straight. I often can size down in vests or jackets that don’t close because of my narrow back, (I got the Anthro sequin duster in a S, for example), but anything that needs to zip closed is another story. I guess the only way to really know is to try one!

I am usually a medium-large in tops (busty 34EE) and went with a large in the long version of Carla's coat. It fits well and is fine over sweaters. I think it runs fairly narrow on the hips, at least this style.

I believe we are of a similar height/weight/size/build (though I have broad shoulders and less chest ) My bust at the fullest measures 36-37 inches and I wear a 34C bra. I almost always wear a size 10 top. My Uniqlo puffer is a size L. It measures 15.5 inches shoulder seam to shoulder seam. I can wear it buttoned up and it doesn’t pull anywhere. Hope this helps.

I have the Uniqlo vest from last season in a medium and it is about 23 inches long from the shoulder and 19 1/2 inches wide (measured at the underarms and 18 inches wide at the waist. It's fairly loose on me (generally a size 6) but fits under other coats

I also have the down short jacket in a L and the cocoon jacket in a small (go figure).

I tried the ultra-light down hooded coat (mid-thigh length) and found that it fit true to size, based on their size chart. For me, the M was a great fit (and my hips and waist would be an M on their chart.) The S fit through the bust, but wouldn’t have allowed for layers through my shoulders, and was a touch more snug than I wanted in outerwear through the hips. (I’m generally a 4-6 in tops, and a 6-8 in bottoms.) Good luck choosing a size!

I went up a size from my usual Uniqlo choice in the vest as sausage casing wasn't a good look for me.. It just added a bit of ease; not a bulky difference as it is a sleek piece: the pockets are done with almost invisible zippers that keep the tailored look and the bit of extra worked well here. I think we are similar in height and the vest hits me at high hip (top of jeans back pocket), though I may have a somewhat longer torso. (3 hands bottom of bust to waist). It is not a cropped piece,, nor is it long. The large may be worth a try.

I haven't had a down vest in ages and I love this one, wearing it more than I ever thought I would because of how lightweight and thin it is. I think it will be terrific to take when traveling to warmer places and returning to my winter climate. Will just layer it under a lighter jacket. .
Hope it works for you.

I have the ultralight down vest and find it fits TTS; the jackets run a wee wink larger. The vest is a slim fit, which I wanted under my jackets and coats. It isn't snug, but it gets snug if I try to zip it over a jersey hoodie.

Are you looking at the uniqlo general size chart or the size chart for the actual product? Here is the actual product size chart for the vest with length measurements; I didn't check it against the general size chart.

I’m considering a white ultralight down vest from Uniqlo for winter layering and wondered if anyone can advise me on sizing. Going by their size charts, I fall smack dab in between a M and a L. I’m short of torso which sometimes makes vests like this long if I size up, but my bust and hip width sometimes require it. I hate to order two sizes unless absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance for any guidance!
