Well, folks, I will be running (well, BARTing) over to the Uniqlo store tomorrow (Tuesday) to have a look-see and try-on. The return/exchange policy isn't great, but I THINK I can figure out if something will fit her by trying it on myself.

Rae: I'll be able to report on how the XS and S fit -- at least in the Heattech and maybe the cashmere pullovers.

Elle: Supposedly, this stuff has *odor control*, or at least it is something they advertise on their web site. If DD wears this back or brings back laundry over winter break, I will know if this odor control thing is hype!

Thistle: In the past, I've made her buy her own clothes because she's so careless. I hesitate to buy silk because I can just imagine her borrowing enzyme detergent that would devour the silk! I think I'll keep the WinterSilks as Plan B, however.

I have not hard of it. I know lots of ladies here in Wisconsin swear by silk long underwear. Heavier silk for being outside more, lighter silk for freezing offices. Might be worth getting her a set of each and letting her decide which she likes better.

Is it synthetic & why is that better than silk? Wouldn't it get smelly in the armpits?

I've not tried it, but I've been very interested now that they have online shopping available to the US. How do the sizes run? True to the chart?

HUGE fan of this line from Uniqlo for us and the boys. So much better than long silk undies.

I have not worn the silk versions but have been very happy with my heattech. From memory I belive Angie, April, Medusa and a couple other forum members are fans.

Is this stuff any good vs. silk long underwear? DD is freezing walking back from the library near midnight in the Midwest. Her birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and the new Uniqlo store is somewhat close. She's not coming home for Thanksgiving, and I don't want a popsicle for Christmas! Heattech is less than half the cost of silk, so I could buy her twice as much. . .

I'd appreciate any feedback on Uniqlo items and their quality!
