Whichever is in #4 looks especially right. Your first pair are a high standard - agree that shortening should sort out the drape issue.

Late to this Liesbeth, I agree with Firecracker to shorten a bit like maybe an inch. I’m fine with the thigh fit. I like how they look on you- overall a streamlined look. I don’t personally like them cuffed.

Interesting suggestion. I don’t sew myself, but I can ask my mom ‘s opinion. THere’s two pairs so I can experiment with one first

Liesbeth, I really love your ankle-length pair and can see why you want to duplicate them in a longer length. Those pants are super fab on you, and with that beautiful green blouse, what a lovely outfit!

The new ones, especially in pic 2, also look good to me, with a more slouchy, menswear style. I would shorten them about an inch (or pin them), so they break over the top of the shoe and fall a little on the back of the shoe as well, but just not as much as they do now. That may improve the drape in the back. Then see if you want to alter the thigh at all. I have taken some fullness out of the back of pants by opening the side seam and just reducing the back piece, not the front, when resewing the seam. It's a little tricky, because it will change the want the pants fall, so you can only reduce maybe 1/2" to 3/4" this way without making the pants look weird.

Thanks for your approval: I just found out returns aren’t free and the warehouse is across the border in Germany . So returning the pants will probably cost as much as these cost with the sales and a coupon... I’d better learn to love the slouch . Or try the suggested alteration actually.

Hi Liesbeth --

The ones you have look great on you!

I feel like the new ones could go either way and see you're "eh" about them so -- back they should go.

Mostly wanted to post to let you know there are others who hate pants shopping as much as you do. Wiy o wiy....

Good luck with the hunt.

I don't think the new ones look bad, but I like the original ones more. Can't hurt to check other options too though, as it sounds like you're not 100% happy with them.

Jules: thanks for chiming in, though the more I think on it, the more I feel this is okay but not what I was going for. Will probably return
Jussie: thanks so much, I’d really like that fitted look so will likely return these and try a size down sometime when I’m in store. I’m just not currently looking for slouchy actually.
RobinF: if you compare jussie’s pick to mine you will see that you’ll have to try them on (and perhaps even different colors/fabrics and lengths) to see how they fit your body. I’m not confident on alterations other than hemming myself . Thanks about my floors, didn’t choose them myself, they were already here, but do like the color too

I was just looking at these pants yesterday and wondering if anyone here has experience with them! I am always on the hunt for good work pants.

They do look kind of full in the thigh to me but I like the way they taper to the ankle.

The front facing pics look fine but the side one really shows how drapey they are.

I wonder if the thighs could be taken in a little? I'm not sure it would be a deal breaker for me if they work in most other ways.

On another note, I am currently floor shopping for our new house (a bit obsessively!) and love the color of your floors.

Liesbeth: they are quite a bit more fitted on me. I don’t mind a more slouchy look though. Here’s a picture of mine, I tried to casualise them.
Come to think of it, once I tried on a darker pair of EZy’s with a windowpane check pattern, and they DID fit differently...

I personally love the fit and the length/tapering - but I do like my pants a bit slouchy. They aren’t ankle pants and the look isn’t as classic as your first pair. I don’t know that it’s particularly current either with wide legs trending. I would keep anyways because I love a slouchy full length tapered pant! If you want a more tailored ankle pant look perhaps try a size down? I’m not sure hemming will work here, I mean you would shorten the pant but I’m not sure you’d get a classic tailored ankle pant look.
Thanks for showing these pants, I was just thinking about developing the ‘menswear’ side of my style because I am back in an office most weekdays, and picked up some great loafers half price this week. I will look into these.

I think maybe they’re bunching up because they’re too long? Just having them hemmed a bit could fix the problem. The thighs are a bit roomy, I think that might just come down to whether it feels TOO roomy to you....
I actually have the uniglo EZY pant in light grey and I must say they’re a workhorse :).

I recently found the ezy ankle pant during a brick and mortar spring shopping outing. Loved the style, loved the price, so after wearing my pair out in public I ordereed a couple more. Well-fitting fitted trousers (need to be machine waschable) are soooo hard for me to find, especially now that I have a tummy that waistbands can dig into. And these have an elasticated waist!
Anyway, I like the ankle length style but was also hoping to get some full-length pairs for variety and for cold days. So I ordered two pairs in l30. I’m not sure if they’re for tall ladies or meant to be full-length. I was a bit disappointed when they arrived because the fabric on these is thinner and looks less chic then my original pair. Also the fit seems somewhat off... they seem larger around the thighs, but I don’t want to size down for fear of being uncomfortable. I need your advice. Send back and keep looking (on this endless search) for something better? Or is the roomieness in the legs acceptable, perhaps even modern looking? And do you think I can wear them cuffed? For versatility?
Picture 1 is my current pair, not up for debate even though I know the photo could be more flattering :).
Others are a navy striped pair from various angles, cuffed and uncuffed, and a black pair (with bonus: pink sweater by uniqlo).
PS: fitted trousers are an essential for the style direction I’m taking now.
