Yeah, I will mix and match, but with less basic pieces I tend to find a combo I prefer and like to wear it the "right" way. Also, while the SO and I don't often go "fancy" places, he frequently expresses that he appreciates it when a lady dresses special (not necessarily "up" but differently than everyday) for date nights. They would provide a uniform allowance, and it would likely be a 6-month stint. <br /><br />Originally my plan for most of my wardrobe budget for this season was to use it to update my smart casual work wardrobe. <br /><br />However, if I end up on this contract I will have to rethink my plan because I don't want to be buying several seasons ahead of what I can wear. It also frees up a lot of wardrobe budget. I definitely don't want to go overboard though, because I can only wear so much on my 2 or 3 days off a week and during evenings---- I already spend a lot of my weekend and evening free time working out, in casual clothing at home, or hiking and fishing. <br /><br />So I guess the questions in this post are two-fold:<br /><br />1) Should I save my wardrobe allowance for the season for future seasons? Update my gear and casual wardrobe? Invest in some loungewear? Go ahead and pick up the trendy and smart casual pieces?<br /><br />2) For those of you that wear uniforms to work, how does it affect what and how much you buy and wear? Do you have a very limited wardrobe? Or do you buy and just wear each outfit less? Does it make you feel like you have less opportunity to be fashionable?<br /><br />In the past work has always been my opportunity to wear nicer stylish clothing,&nbsp; and I only had to save the very trendy/casual or "date" type clothing for weekends. Now I am concerned there may be no point in shopping this season since I don't know that I'll have a chance to get much use out of it. <br />
