Ha! The PG oxfords work even laced. A good height and refined, for a brogue. Still too lazy to have taken out laces yet!
So I think I would go for that heel height.
Here's a wrinkle-- they are cotton plus a little other and so will wrinkle a little. And show more than in black. Not like linen, but some. But, I think I can make peace with the crease in a summer look. Or am I wearing blinders and lowering my standards? I think this is why jeans are so popular-- the fabrication is more resilient.

Yes! The Paul Greens will be great. It's worth a try with the laces in, too.

Or: what if you took the laces out of the top couple of rows of eyelets and then tucked them? Maybe they'd stay tucked that way?

The Pikolino's look great! Hmm--I might try my PG oxfords that have a slight heel; they might fit without their laces.; however, I feel very lazy about putting laces in and taking out for different outfits (poor me, I know).
I am getting to where gray shoes are the new black, for me--I seem to be able to use a lot of variations and each serves a different purpose, due to picky proportions with pant length, pant hem, pants vs skirts, length of wear (8 hour shoe vs 14 hour shoe), socks or sheer hose, etc.

A couple of oxford options. . .

I love the laceless Pikolinos. They don't have a heel like your Halogens, though.

The Naots have a slight heel, but they have laces. Still, I'm crazy about them, too.

The colors on these would work with white, in my opinion, especially if there is a bit of cream or beige somewhere else in the outfit. Doesn't have to be a lot. (I usually create the cohesion with a belt if I can.)

I've seen both of these in person (and I have the Naots in a different color), and was considering getting one of them. I ended up getting the Think! shoes above, instead. But if I came across the Naots at a seriously discounted price, I'd probably get them, too!

Anyway, thought I'd share in case they might fit the bill for you.

Hear is my new fave shoe that is a style that would work with the white trousers but this olive color seems too dark for my aims. it It "reads" like a refined bootie when standing/walking, but to me seems less wintry.
I've found some other laceless oxfords but some have "flaps" that are too prominent. I could also do the tuckes laces thing but I admit, mine always come untucked during the day and I have to fuss with them.
I might also find a shoe that fits with laces removed.

Firecracker, love that reptile look. Also I'd look into something sporty like stripes or dots or trim.

I've not ruled out beiges and blush and tans completely because there tends to be more selection there for sure. It might work better than I think if I'm wearing white pants (which I've never worn to work before!) and lighter summer color tops. Then I'd not be bookending with hair, but the overall outfit would be light and fit with footwear. I have shoes in those colors I will try out just for the color effect and see how I like it.

Daria, for "straight" pants worn full length I've found I need a low-vamped shoe though not toe-cleavage baring. For flats, that tends to be loafers, or some variation on the ballet flat, whether classic round or pointy, maybe slipper flat, but usually not oxfords because there is too much going on on the vamp. The exception is certain shootie styles that are very smooth vamped so the pants hem doesn't catch on it so much.
Ankle pant length obviates all of that, of course. For this wider trouser I like it to mostly cover the shoe.

What about one of those Asos white shoe styles Angie suggested to Ledonna recently? I especially loved the "Mapmaker" sling-back white oxford. For a pale neutral with a slight heel, I can recommend (available from DSW) the Anne Klein "Marissa" slingback kitten heel, or the similar closed-back "McKinley"--both pointy-toed, champagne colored & comfortable.

I think white pants are always nice to have as a dressier Summer option than white jeans, especially with jackets. I've gotten a lot of wear out of a narrower, cropped pair of Lacoste white pants, but I like the look of your trousers, & may have to try them!

I own the shoes Joy suggested. I love them as well. Very comfortable and I feel very stylish.

Galena's suggestions are also great, but a bit out of my price range.

So you got pant #2, not #1, right? I think a little bit of a heel would look best with the wider leg opening.
And a light reptile with some white in it would look good and perhaps be versatile enough to go with other pants you have. I'll see if I can find some examples.

eta: Actually, these shoes I just got this weekend would look good. I like this light gray with white. I wish I could tell you where to find them--I got them at a Seattle shoe store, and I had been searching for a light colored shoe in this style for a while. I have black ones that are similar, and they are so comfortable--just the holy grail of comfort for me, with a bit of style, too.

I do like those, Joy! I'm in one of my trouser dikemmas as to whether to target flats or to intentionally find a comfortable heeled ( modest height by some standards) shoe style to create a more graceful leg line.

Thanks, Gaylene! I like the color combo of the espadrille and also the closed toe if wearing to work. I was thinking that something like B&W would look summery but work with dark and white pants. Of course cognac or blush would do same but I've struggled with lighter colors with dark pants. I have seen a lot of booties I'd call more summery than wintry, but just the right mix of closed boot and summer vibe that fits is a bit of a HEWI still.

These are the shoes I wear with my white trousers, white jeans, and white slim crops. I'll vouch for the comfort of all them because I refuse to break-in shoes or wear anything that can't let me walk for 5-8 miles in comfort.

I had not planned on any white pants for work wardrobe both due to too much white-on-white and also, jeans not allowed and just hadn't thought to try. But the lure of summer called to me.
AT offered several types of white cotton-blend pants this year and I'd not been interested enough until just recently . Suddenly the idea of white "straight pants" seemed very appealing--I have that or similar in black, for summer and they work well worn basicallly full length with several types of loafers-- but they were already sold out --Pic #1.

Pic # 2 is a trouser style, wider, but I ordered it. Well, I really like it! It may have a very slightly bootcut vibe, I may measure to see, because it doesn't look so voluminous or schtumpy as I expected, though is mostly a trouser. It looks tailored, and is lined. I could see myself having fun with it for summer wear, making even gray tops look more summery than with black pants, as well as brights or prints, and work-appropriate.

The photos may look almost the same, but #2 is wider for sure.

The problem is potential footwear. The "straight pants", while not skinny or for rolling, work okay with loafers and low heel because the width at the hem falls on top of the foot. The trousers seem to beg to fall over a bootie of some sort, maybe a 1.5-2" stacked heel, but has to be comfortable and not look wintry, and I'm stumped for that as well as color. I have my olive Halogen laceless loafer-shootie , but they look too dark. Then add to that I don't get as much use from tan booties because I really miss closer bookending with hair. My ideal shoe would be maybe gray reptile or 2-tone bootie-shootie that "reads" darkish but picks up white, so might go with other things as well. Not to be a whinger, but metallic has not been working well for me overall for day wear, especially nothing very light or reflective. Still, never say never.

Naturally I don't want to cut tags or hem until I decide if I can style with footwear and not have an orphan. If these white trousers would be "classic" ( or have a couple years' longevity) I could take time to look for something.

I didn't expect them to look good, is the thing!

Thoughts on white "trousers"--classic, or dated already ? The hunt for footwear ? Orphans?
